    Open Rocket

I have tested Kerry's Utility with previous versions of OR and it's very stable. Only issues is that the utility does require IE to do the rendering of templates. If you're a Linux/Firefox user then it won't work for you.

    OpenRocket - New Version 1.1.4

Hi Jeff, I remembered a conversion with Kerry Quinn regarding running his OR Print utility on Linux running Firefox and after some digging through TRF & my PMs I found his explanation of why non-IE browsers cannot render print files..... Kerry wrote: "... my program creates the print...

    OpenRocket - New Version 1.1.4

The changes and improvements Sampo and team have made since I started playing with version 0.96 are amazing! I'm just a player these days - not a serious designer or flier anymore but I'm still following the progress of OR on SourceForge & TFR. OR 2.0 will be real competition for RockSim.

    OpenRocket - New Version 1.1.4

Yup Kerry's utility is a good work around solution for printing and the Google Earth flight maps can be really eye opening. Especially if you're flying on a smallish field. The only drawback with the utility is it works only with IE for the "drawing" functions which keeps to you tied to MS...

Space Shuttle launch caught from passing airplane

I'm not sure if this has been posted on TRF or not, but I figured it would be cool to see again in anycase:eyepop: GE_USPTmYXM

OpenRocket a viable alternative to RockSim?

One other plus to OpenRocket is that it will also run on any version of Linux. Rocksim only runs on Windows or Mac.

    Which sim-ware?

Have to agree 100%. Rocksim is very feature rich and mature. That said, I'd really have to have something to write the expense down against before spending $120. OpenRocket, on the other hand is Free. Considering how far it's come in around a year, you really have to be impressed. It does...

    Home Printer Recommendations

I'd say go LASER. In the long run you will save dollars, particularly if you have kids in high school or staying at home to attend college. Yes you can by an inkjet printer at Walmart, or Costco or wherever for 50 or 60 bucks, but you all know you spend 1000's of dollars over the life of the...

You know you're getting old, but still COOL when....

When I drive my 17 year old to work and the 3 "really cool new" tunes come on the radio which she just downloded. And I don't have the heart to tell her what her mom and I were doing when they were really cool and new......

Whats happens to all the wadding?

Very good points. Since I generally fly at the elementary school soccer fields near home I use mostly B & C motors (pink plugs). I can get 3 or 4 launches per plug. Leaving things cleaner than you found them reminds me of the part of the boy scout pledge, I believe. Regardless, it's...
