    Estesbashers pulling carbon sleeves.

I've been pulling these sleeves for a few years now. And I thought I'd share when so many others have shared with me. I've always got some kind of enjoyment from coming in the forum and looking at all the builds the forum members have been doing. Along the way I've picked up some techniques from...

MadCow 66mm Black Brandt II FG

Go to the auto parts store. I'm sure they would have some bondo spreaders. I'd take a good heavy pare of scissors and cut them into the shape you want. Then I'd use 80-grit sand paper to round the edge, making it smoother with 220 and so on. With shipping cost like that you've got to look for...

What did you do rocket wise today?

ok! I'm down to my last two retainers. Ones going to be a repair. Even with two wraps of 3oz. fiberglass cloth you can still end up with a zipper if the shock cord is to short.

Well it's not surprising with so many things going on with the build. At least you wasn't standing out at the pad wonder where your launch lugs went.

I was not sure Gary. A few weeks ago while at hobby lobby. I found some pearl pigments. If you were spraying clear coats on your rockets to give them a try. https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Clay-Molding-Sculpting/Clay/Macropearl-PearlEx-Powdered-Pigments/p/23181

Gary are you doing a clear coat over your paints? That wet look was the first thing I used when I started with auto paints. Been so long ago I don't remember. I've been using the two stage paints for awhile.

I was sitting in my shop, while looking at some scraps. I thought of this. two nose cones 5" BT.-60 body tube. And the 29mm. tube for the inside. Now I've got to get my metal lathe running so I can turn the 24mm, retainer. For the motor mount.

snrkl Get your self some of the additives for you epoxy to thicken it up. This will help on the run you had with your motor tube. I use the west systems 406 colloidal silica and the phenolic microballons also.https://www.uscomposites.com/fillers.html https://www.uscomposites.com/westfillers.html

What did you do rocket wise today?

The two rockets on the right I've had sitting and waiting for a good time to finish them, better late than never. Last Friday I finished the 24mm, on the left. I wanted to fly it Saturday at a launch but I didn't want too loose it. There was a haze, I've learned you only fly them with clear blue...

What did you do rocket wise today?

I'm probably the worst one when it comes to finishing a rocket. The one in the primer I've had sitting around for years, At least it's got one flite under its belt.

Epoxy not curing — advice please!

Spend a few minutes with a hair dryer or heat gun after you clean it up. If you use a heat gun try not to heat it up too much.

What did you do rocket wise today?

I got some new carbon plate this week. So the last few days I have been working on a 29mm. I even tried my first fin guide. While wondering around at hobby lobby. looking for foam board I found some different pearls. So I gave them a try on this build.
