    9-Volt Batteries - Part 1 : The Tear Down - Battery No.1 thru No. 5

Locally, the Energizer 9 volt Lithium battery has really shot up in price. The best I could find for a single pack is $12.99 at Target. A lot of stores are selling the single pack for around $17 and Home Depot is selling the 2 pack for $33.87. I wonder if using two 9 volt alkaline batteries in...

    Rest In Peace-Jerry Irvine

Very sad news! I'm a big fan of US Rockets since they offered so many unique designs. I also liked they helped me learn some old school building techniques such as making a transition by cutting out slices from the end of a body tube. It's probably a long shot but it would be cool if some of the...

Will a rechargeable Lithium 9 volt battery such as this one work just as good a non rechargeable one for use with the new Phaser launch controller? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BS9FFP75/ Locally, the Energizer non rechargeable Lithium 9 volt battery is quite expensive being $15 for one...

    Q-Jet Follies

I would try a 3S 11.1v LiPo battery which will put out a voltage of 12.6 volts when fully charged.

Looking for a balsa filler that also add some hardness

Anyone know of a balsa filler that also adds some hardness? I figured it would come in handy for balsa nose cones and fins.

    Original fat boy

You can always leave the 18mm motor mount and use the Quest Q-Jet 18mm C12-6 or D16-6 motors if you want higher altitudes. Also, it's kind of pricey but the Squirrel Works Acorn is an available clone of the Fat Boy.

Estes going to MAP = MSRP for all online sellers 4/1?

The new Estes MAP policy only pertains to advertised pricing. In store pricing, as in what's on the price tag, can be whatever.

Best knot for tying shroud lines to low power chutes?

I just use a double knot and then a dab of white glue on the knot to keep the knot from loosening or slipping on the string.

    Shock cord attachment

My method for LPR shock cord attachment is to cut a brown paper bag to the size of the tri-fold mount. Then use a small length of Kevlar thread and glue it inside of the tri-fold brown paper bag mount instead of the elastic shock cord. The brown paper bag really absorbs the glue well. Tie a...

Custom Drone Killer model rocket completed

I just finished this Custom Drone Killer flying model rocket kit. It was a fun build which has a 3D printed transition and nose cone. The decals were some of the best peel and stick decals that I've ever used. The decals can be repositioned several times but stick really good when you press them...

2021 Estes Startech Starters (Igniters) - available soon

Has anyone found that if the launch controller doesn't have enough power that it can still ignite the igniter without starting the engine? Perhaps the igniter doesn't burn hot enough.

18 to 24mm adaptors that work with screw in engine retainers

I would dry fit the parts first just to double check. With that being said, I think the thrust ring at 2 9/16" should be just right for C11 and D12 24mm engines. If you want to set it up for E engines, then 3 9/16" and you would need to use a spacer with the C11 and D12 engines. Another option...

18 to 24mm adaptors that work with screw in engine retainers

If you set the thrust ring at just the right depth, you will have the best of both worlds as far as getting enough threads for the Estes adapter or a regular 24mm engine.
