Record for Black Powder Gap Staging? 51 inches?

I've recovered the booster with dual streamers. There are pods housing the streamers attached to the sides at the aft end of the sustainer. The booster has matching plugs at the forward end where the streamers are actually attached, and seal the bottom of the pods when the booster and...

What is driving the anti-science complicity among the US population, and online?

That's incredible! Someone should break the bad news to the textbook companies quick. They're going to be throwing out a lot of sections from their books. But oh, let me guess, we can still teach the stuff we like that's not falsifiable.

    "Max liftoff weight"

A big draggy rocket might be most of the way back to earth before a C6-7 would eject.

What if body tubes came with the spirals already filled?

That sounds like thread winner to me. I'm going to have to try this. And kudos to those experienced or skillful enough to fiberglass everything, but to me that would be every bit as much work as just filling and sanding.

Coronavirus: What questions do you have?

That fits with the observations I have made as well as people I know in other circles. It seems we all know a handful of people who have tested positive but have VERY limited or no symptoms. These positive individuals all have family (same household) members who were repeatedly tested and...

Coronavirus: What questions do you have?

Why are we expecting a bad flu season? Aren't we distancing and half masked and reduced capacity and all that? Shouldn't the flu season be at least a little better than normal?

Next Crewed American Space Flight on May 27

Does the first stage return depend on the trajectory of the mission? I thought they were landing the stages right back at the Cape. Or did the fact that POTUS and VPOTUS were around nix the idea of a first stage coming hurtling back to Cape Canaveral?

Coronavirus: What questions do you have?

So given what we've seen with the infection, recovery, and asymptomatic carrier rates; COULD we ever prove if those mysterious Nov-Jan "flu but tested negative," cases were COVID? At first I thought there's no way it could have been COVID because it spreads like wildfire. But lately it seems...

    Tripoli and NAR Launch Site

It's a perfectly good theoretical exercise. I see I'm not the only one who has thought about that Lottery win, and I, for one, would set aside a few mil to have a perfect Mid-Atlantic field. So...go play y'all!

Weight Loss Options & Sleeve Gastrectomy is Not One of Them!

There's a lot to be said for portion control. If it is limited enough, it will work very well. It has the added benefit of being more realistic to stick with, since you don't have to avoid anything altogether. Ketogenic options require a good stock of willpower, and work best when MUCH...

    Robots getting creepier

These kind of things always make more of an impression because we see it and subconsciously assume after the video we see, the robot walks off to play basketball, sits down, goes shopping, cooks dinner, hangs out at the sports bar, or whatever else; just like a human-since we see them doing...

A Boeing airplane just 'drew' a Boeing airplane across the United States

It's the Boeing company. They're testing the aircraft's endurance. They have to. Nothing wrong with making it fun.

To squeeze or not to squeeze?

There are people who purposefully make sparkling water? That's horrifying!

OJ has been granted parole - could be freed in October

It is what it is. The Prosecution in the big trial got outclassed and outmaneuvered. At least he lost the civil suit and then messed up with this armed robbery thing. 33 years is actually very lengthy for armed robbery with no one hurt. The only reason he was in for 9 was that he gambled and...

    Quest Motors in Stock

I've only used a small sample size myself, less than 20 Quest motors. But I have had a B that burned a small hole in the casing. There was another B and a C that were paper thin and I could basically break in half after the flight. To me, it looks like they run pretty close to the danger...

    Is this true?

Wow, I guess the number could be plausible. Now, I'm trying to wrap my head around the Estes contact list of 250,000 non organizational groups. That number is about double the number you'd get if you added all locations of the top 20 fast food locations in the US; From Subway and McD's to...

    Don't see this every day...

It is not an amusement park ride. The driver showed me the shipping documents for it. It is going to Hobby Lobby headquarters, and it is apparently a bin of scrapbooking supplies.

    Nozzle question

Hi, I'm happy to see your interest and enthusiasm. You really should find a club and mentors that can show you the right way to do what you want to do. You should know about building and launching rockets before you make motors and nozzles. If you don't know where the igniter should go...

    Is this true?

Based on nothing whatsoever, except instinct and basic math, I'm saying that's not possible. It would be cool, but the numbers aren't there.

    Hello All

I've done beer and wine at home. I felt like it was one of those cool things that I should at least try out. I don't have the passion to support the time and effort though. I'm all for people doing it, and you know they always have to share it with their friends...that's what I'm talking about.
