LOC 4" Black Brant X L1 Cert Build

Finally getting around to building this one. I notice in the instructions there is an eyebolt attached to the forward ring of the motor assembly, as well as the baffle section that attaches to the bottom of the middle body tube. What would be the function of the bolt below the baffle, since the...

LOC 4" Black Brant X L1 Cert Build

Congratulations on your flight. I'm about to build the same model and your story is helpful. I see you chose to build the fin assembly and cut into the body tube to get the fins in. I'm inclined to do the same.

Loc Precision 3.9" V2 - how much ballast to use?

Mine also came with nose weight, but I can't remember exactly how much. You could pour in some fishing lead balls followed by some epoxy and leave it propped up on the tip. Note that this is one of my longest-performing rockets, couldn't even tell you how many launches I've gotten out of it.

Is there a FAQ that walks you through level 1 certification?

I went with the Cesaroni recommended earlier in the thread. Hopefully I can get reloads for it...

Is there a FAQ that walks you through level 1 certification?

BTW, do the reloads from Aerotech fit into the Cesaroni engines? Or are they all just meant for their own casings?

HPR engines for sale in Los Angeles?

Great, that's awesome, I was planning to go to Lucerne to get certified with ROC. I don't think I'll have received the 29mm reload able I just ordered in time for December 13, but will hopefully see you in January.

Is there a FAQ that walks you through level 1 certification?

That's great, guys, thanks. What about a general learning resource for the technical questions that will be expected of me? Is there a study guide?

Is there a FAQ that walks you through level 1 certification?

I just joined NAR today, and plan on attending a launch soon where I'd like to certify. I have the Estes Leviathan and Argent models (29mm) and am trying to determine if it's practical to purchase a reloadable H engine for one of these.

HPR engines for sale in Los Angeles?

Are there any hobby stores in the Los Angeles area that sell reloadable engines or G and H single use? It would be nice to avoid hazmat fees...

OK, regarding the motor mount question, Loc Precision really came through for me with the following:

Ha, you're actually right, I used a great deal of license when I painted it.

Loc Precision 3.9" V2 - how much ballast to use?

OK, I've finished the rocket! My wife was a little alarmed to see swastikas on the fins, despite my reassurance this this is the way they really looked, so perhaps I shouldn't post a picture? In any event, I'm a little confused about how to use the 29mm adapter that I made for it. I assume...

Loc Precision 3.9" V2 - how much ballast to use?

I'm newish to the world beyond Estes, and will be using G-size engines with the 29mm motor adapter. Should I use the entire bag of ballast with this model? Thanks in advance!
