    Estes Goblin Clone

Thanks! I'll be ordering those soon. I just need to decide on a paint scheme. I'm thinking green rather than the standard yellow ...

    Estes Goblin Clone

Thanks guys! I paint so I had lots of gesso on hand. After doing some research I had read of others using it as balsa filler with good results. I'll keep your suggestions in mind J! I was wondering where I'd get the decals. Coop, the DRM is next in line to be finished. Then onto my Zooch Saturn...

    Estes Goblin Clone

Unfortunately I'm already well into building this rocket but I thought I'd share anyways. This is my first build upon getting back into rocketry. I started a quite random scratch build and as it went on decided to clone one of my favorite classic Estes kits, The Goblin. The nose cone is hand...

    Short Hiatus Project

Nice start. I think a cluster rocket may be in order when my current builds are complete!

What's in the new Estes Designer Special?

I've always thought this box of goodies to be a great value. Or perhaps it's just sentimental bias. My parents bought me the DS in the early 90's after I was introduced to rocketry at summer camp. My first rockets were all scratch builds. Thanks to Estes and the DS, I have had a healthy...

    More Rockets to Build

Yikes! I thought I had my hands full working on three at once! It works out though. You've always got something to keep your hands busy while glue, filler or paint is drying. :)

    Turning my first nose cone

Nice work! This makes me want a lathe. I just freehanded a balsa nosecone. Lets hope it flies true. Lol

    Dr. Zooch Replacement Wraps?

Does anyone know if these are available foe purchase seperate from the kit? I've been away from the hobby for a couple of years. I hastily stored my mostly built Saturn V and the wraps are beyond repair. I didn't seem to find anything pertaining to purchase of this sort of thing on the web site...

    Estes - Goblin (K-55 or #1255) Gallery

Would anyone happen to have a fin template for the original model #1255? This would help immensely with my scratch build... now that the balsa nose cone nightmare is out of the way! :)

    The Pet Pic Post

With the recent pet threads I've been reading through here it's clear to me that there are plenty of animal lovers about. So I thought why not have a thread to show off our pets... Below are: Kitty (orange) Goliath (black) O'Malley (white) and Winston...you can guess which one he is.

    RIP Faithful friend

Sorry to hear. My pet's are part of my family. I know how difficult it is to lose one. Just think how happy he was. And it sounds like you gave him a great home. That's all a pet can ask for. :)

    Build: Estes Bullpup

Thanks for the info. I should have know better than to challenge the statement of someone named Micromeister. ;) Sorry if I came off as a tiny bit pompous...but I am at times so let's accept it and move on. lol No worries about getting off topic I'm always receptive to new information. And...

    Build: Estes Bullpup

You don't see the clay because it was already packed in the nose cone. ;)

    Build: Estes Bullpup

I'm not sure why you would say it's not a scale model. A scale model is a representation or copy of an object that is larger or smaller than the actual size of the object. It is in fact a scaled down copy of the real thing. What scale? I'm not sure. Estes doesn't specify. But it's a "scale"...
