    Surgical Tubing Charges?

Have you thought of making a Z-Pard type device? It is an aluminum piston that houses black powder in one end and then is connected between your e-bay and nosecone. Because you don't have to pressurized the entire bay a little bit of BP can generate quite the force. The downside is extra...

    Charge Well Design

I use surgical tubing charges. Wells are just extra weight. Tape the tubes to the bulkhead and then pack with some dog barf and then nomex chute protector. I've used them exclusively. The BP is in contact with the e-match and won't move around. Edward

Advice on Dual-Deployment from a Single Compartment?

For something that large and not wanting to pressurize the entire thing I would use a Z-Pard. Basically a double sleeved aluminum piston powered by BP. You can try and locate the free article that was in Rockets magazine by Rick V. I've used a version that uses a two pieces of nested tubing...

    Hybrids For 2016

I'd hope you could get more than 11K out of the K250... Back when someone was going for the I records with SRS equipment I remember them filling and dumping the tank a couple of times to chill the nitrous down and increase the dIsp. Hybrid records are a bit of a misnomer, because you really...

    Hybrids For 2016

Skyripper, RATTWorks, ProPolymers and Contrail in my opinion are the same level of complexity. All are U/C that you fill and then fire. Hypertek is another level of complexity. Edward

Prairie Twister Rocketry Cable Cutter - Information Wanted

All, After looking through my past orders I am thinking of changing the basic 2-pack to include 100 o-rings and 100 cable ties. This is 80 more of each than currently. The price would go from $50 to $60. Any comments? I may just add it as an option, and people can still order the...

Anyone interested in airframe Radial Drill Guides

I can post the 3D models that I made the part from soon. The thing that appeals to me more about this guide is that two guides provide guide holes for 1,2,3,4,6 or 8 radially drilled holes on 38mm, 54mm, 64mm 75mm, 98mm 5.5", 6" and 7.5" airframes. Much more versatile than having a jig for...

Anyone interested in airframe Radial Drill Guides

I've decided to tackle this problem from another direction. For 2,4 or 8 holes I've come up with a piece of angle. It is 6-inches long and the legs are 4x4. 1-inch from one end are spaced holes for drilling perpendicular for various diameters. Both legs are the same. This way you can drill...

Anyone interested in airframe Radial Drill Guides

I had a price quote on this, but I'm still not convinced this is the best way to do this. It requires a specialized tool for each diameter. I could sell them for ~$40 each. That is a large investment for something like this. I'm really not sure if it is worth it - my minimum to get this...

    Tripoli I-Motor Altitude record

Come to Colorado. Thin air :) One launch site with a 20K waiver is ~5,300 elevation and the other site which only has a 14,200' waiver sits at an elevation of 8,800'. Edward

    Rocketry Nut now available!

I tested these 5 or 6 years ago with Doc @ Rocket Materials. Same design. We used 3/8 tubular kevlar cords to test and every time we tested we snapped the kevlar cord and the nut wasn't damaged. I've flown them on all my rockets up to 25-30 pounds and never have had issues. I don't know what...
