    Mylar chutes

I would think either one is easy to spot. I like the sliver but that's personal preference. Some people use emergency blankets as well. Not sure on the thickness of the blanket maybe a Walmart employee would know?

    I launch it

It went kinda crazy and landed someplace it shouldn't have. Maybe next I won't launch from the parks parking on Tuesday. Too many trees on that day, not sure why the thermals were pretty crazy that day and the lady across the street was yelling about the drones.

    Pro29 3g loads

I also heard the same thing that they are pretty nice motors. When you get your Level 1 does it matter what brand you use? Can you use either CTI or Aerotech reloads?

    LOC Onyx question

Yeah I agree with you on that one. It's only $38 and like $30 for parts so it makes sense. I know some people get their panties in twist hearing that you cloned a kit because they state you are not supporting the manufacturer by purchasing a kit, but if you buy the parts from the manufacturer...

    LOC Onyx question

This would be a cool kit to clone...maybe make some improvements, but you can buy it for a few dollars more so probably not worth cloning...nice kit though! Short and fat!

    Plastic Primer

I'm about to spray one of my Aerotech kits and someone suggest that I use plastic primer on the nose cone and fins. https://www.rustoleum.com/cbgproduct.asp?pid=119 I understand why this has to be done, but my question is this? If I primer the nose cone and fins with the plastic primer...

    Why pick Old Krylon????

I have had good luck with Duplicolor, but they are so limited on their colors. I'll spray a base coat of and then if I want something off the wall I'll buy something from TESTOR's for accent colors. Rusto is good except for maybe their Gloss White, which I refuse to use. I might at some point...

    Hoarders

I never built a tube fin rocket...you just gave me an idea for my next paint scheme...black and yellow and silver accent colors...black nose cone with a silver tip?? That would work and I have all the colors I need...just need some white primer or flat white to get the yellow to pop.

    Why pick Old Krylon????

I think most of the paints mentioned are limited to colors...I usually use a white topcoat and if I want something unique I'll buy a couple 2-3 cans of Testor's for accent colors....I think gloss white and primers are the products I buy the most. Of course then again the paint job the rocket...

Best way to protect LPR launch lug during finishing?

You can easily use an needle file to bore out the launch lug and clean it up of any unnecessary paint...works for me.

    Hoarders

Yea you gotta get out there and fly them. I have about 20 plus rockets to fly...some I have flown before. What I do is I get to the lake real early and blow off all my motors that whole day and have a blast. Come back and relax for a week or so and then start to plan my next build. I have one...

    Why pick Old Krylon????

That's why I posted the thread? I always thought of it as "cheap" regular paint. I use to paint with a brand called "PLASTI-COAT" (SP) and thought it was better at the time than Krylon. Right now I guess you just have to go with what's out there...I've been happy with some Rusto paints and...

    Hoarders

I could see that. I guess the thing I miss about kits are the laser cut parts. I think I am getting drained on working with balsa...this sanding and sealing:eyepop: is getting old.
