Getting hold of Cesaroni 75 and 98 hardware and re-loads

I believe CTI is a Canadaian Company. It would probably be cheaper to get it direct from a Canadian vendor rather than adding all the xtra taxes etc by going thru a US company. I get all my CTI hardware from Sunward/ They claim to ship world-wide...

Ordered mine from his Wednesday sale back in May. Has not arrived yet.

    Cj's builds MadCow Nike-Apache 2-stage

I think I have an idea for retaining the sustainer. I typically fly with CTI Motors. If one was to use a 5 Grain motor in a 6 Grain casing, a Spacer would be required above the motor to take up the extra space. If one was to place 38mm hard point above the motor tube, and modify a 29mm...

    Cj's builds MadCow Nike-Apache 2-stage

I too am interested in the HEI ignition option. My Apache has not net arrived, but I just got my notification from MadDog that it has shipped, and I'm ready to get started.

    Buying black powder

If I was a rocketry vendor, I would be hesitant to sell black poweder. Anyone who engages in the business of selling black powder, regardless of quantity, must be licensed as an explosives dealer. [27 CFR 555.41(b)] https://www.atf.gov/explosives/qa/may-i-sell-black-powder-without-license...

So the Eagles are going to the World Series

It's the first good thing they have done since they saved Frodo and Sam at Mount Doom.

Thoughts on the new madcow nike-apache as first hpr 2 stager?

I'm looking at a Small VMAX Booster, and a Mellow Yellow sustainer. Perhaps even H53 MY; G250-VM It's a shame to waste that big booster with a small engine, but....

Todays new cars should come with this: [insert desired feature here]

If you are gonna go there.... Star Trek Phazers. Not the kind from later series where they just blast their target, the kind from the earlier seasons where all that's left of the target is a grease spot on the sidewalk.

    Fillets what to use?

I've used JB Weld for filets with great success. It's very sandable. The only disadvantage is the cost, as it's fairly expensive.

    TRF Fantasy Football League

Some time ago I asked if anyone would be interested in a Fantasy Football league for Rocketeers. There was some interest, so I have created a 10 Team Private League on ESPN. It's a free league, no prizes so it's just for fun. Most importantly no cost! So... Who's in? Send me your email...

A Computer That Changed Everything (Altair 8800)

I do believe you are missing a zero that hard drive price The initial price for a Seagate ST-506 was $1,500 for a 5 MB formatted drive or $300/Mbyte and this was several years later after the IBM PC was released.

    A great Darwin Award contestant

An interesting fact about this battle which took place December 24, 1814, through January 8, 1815 was that The Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24, 1814. For all intents and purposes the war was already over. Hostilities would continue in Louisiana, without knowing about and contrary to...

    Openrocket edit button not working

Wow, reviving a two year old thread. I've seen the behavior where you select edit, but the edit dialog opens on a second screen, even though a second screen is not attached to the computer at the time. This usually happens if you've used OR on a computer with multiple screens and then removed...

Type of Glue for Leviathan cert 1

The only changed I recommend for the Leviathan is to ditch the elastic band and replace it with some tubular nylon or Kevlar. Elastic belongs in underwear, not rockets. Put a eye hook in the top centering ring. White/Yellow wood glue are both stronger than the paper tube, so should not be a...

    Cleaning 1010/1515 launch rail groves

Depending on the size of the PVC, that could get expensive. Especially with HOPPS at about a buck an oz. Vinegar, perhaps.

    MDRM question -- time-sensitive!!

The only one I had trouble with was the big wrap that goes at the top. I had to do some touch up with Black and White paint to fix a few spots where I tore the decal. As to how long they will last I don't know. I would have preferred some of Mark's vinyl decals.

To build or not to build?!?

All this being said, should I somehow come across an ORIGINAL Estes Saturn V kit, there is NO WAY I'm even removing the plastic from the box. I'll build one, but it will be a clone. :) Since that is not going to happen...

To build or not to build?!?

Unless you build it, it's not a rocket. It's a bag of paper, wood, and maybe some plastic or fiberglass. Turning it into a rocket is what we do.
