All the best wishes for a quick recovery!
Thinking good thoughts for Carl, Sheryl and family.

Yikes! Thoughts and prayers for the McLawhorn family.

If there is a pacemaker involved in that surgery, and Carl does any hunting or shooting, make sure the doctors know and put the unit somewhere where it won't be on his shooting shoulder! :)

God Bless;

-N

Now there's an interesting thought--can you imagine the specs on the pacemaker they'd have to use on Carl? It would have to have nuclear grade battery power to keep up with him, or maybe come with a good old fashioned hand crank so he could keep winding himself up. Sheryl might want to look at having some sort of "kill switch" or governor put on there as well (sorry/poor word choice) to zap him when it's time to settle back for a few minutes of rest.

Carl on a pacemaker. Good luck with that!

I knew it, I knew it! That order of 32 nosecones blew Carl's heart out:eek:

Best wishes for a speedy recovery(I'm not done with you, yet:D)

Oh, no, what a shock to hear about that! Along with everyone else, I am hoping and praying for a speedy and complete recovery. For Carl, of course, but also for Sheryl and Bruce. All of your friends here are standing watch, holding their breath, and praying furiously for Carl and you to get through this crisis all right.

Mark

Sheryl, Bruce, and Carl,

Oh my! I'm sending thoughts & prayers your way for a successful recovery. I'm glad Carl will not be needing surgery at this point (its no fun!). Carl, Take whatever time you need to get healthy, we'll wait.

Patiently.

Really. :D

What terrible news! Followed quickly by a good prognosis from Carl's doctor, thank God.

Carl, Sheryl, and Bruce are in my thoughts and prayers...

As all the others have said Carl, my family and I have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Please have a speedy recovery. You have been so kind to me and my small rocket endeavor and to everyone in this great hobby so, recover and return healthy, we all need your help.

Rick

The orders can wait -- Being there for Carl is much more important!

Absolutely!

Carl, get well soon! You're scaring us!

I will be praying that God will send you healing and health, but you still have to do your part and take care of yourself

-Dave

Oh gosh-- Sheryl, Bruce, and Carl you will be in my prayers. Please take it easy and don't worry about 'work'. Most of us have plenty of Semrocs kits in our build pile that will keep us busy for awhile. :)

Please take off as much time as you need and don't worry about having to 'mind the store.' Your health comes first.

Pat

I just posted on YORF that John Dyer called me before 6 p.m. CDT to say that he had spoken to Sheryl. Carl is doing better and may be home either Friday or Saturday.
The SEMROC server is still down although Bruce is doing his best to figure out the problem. Carl apparently set the system up and knows how to fix it.
Please be patient and keep good thoughts towards them.

Thanks.
Chas

All the best for Carl and Sheryl. I hope Carls recovery is rapid and painless as possible :)

Mark, that's exactly what I wanted to say. Especially the "praying furiously" bit.

What MarkII said.

Cheers,

Thanks for the update, Chas! That is great news!

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. They have worked. Carl's doctor feels surgery is not warrented at this time and has been giving him various medications that seem to be working well. Carl is feeling much better. We are still hoping for a release date of Friday or Saturday if all continues well.

Bruce has been able to get the internet working for us but we stilll can't get to our site or emails. I do not know anything of the workings of computers (we have several hooked up to do various jobs). He is still working on that and we hope to get it going very soon. Thank you everyone for your patience with this.

I just talked to Carl. He really appreciates the prayers and well wishes from the rocketry community. As you would expect, he's anxious to get out of the hospital and back home.

This has been a long week for me and my family. On Monday night on the way to my car to attend a Boy Scout meeting, I suffered a heart attack. My cardiologist said it was a 5 on a scale from 0 to 10. They placed a #12 stint in one coronary artery that was 95% blocked. I was thinking at the time that it was just under a Series #13, so it had an ID of 1.20". A PA friend of mine told me later that it was 12mm stint, closer to a Series #4 tube.

My pain was relieved in just a few hours, but the weakness persisted due to medications and the restriction that I not bend my right leg and turn more than about 10 degrees for two days. During that time, being able to follow the threads on the forums lifted my spirits and your prayers gave me solace.

Thanks to all for your support, best wishes, posts, prayers and being there when most needed. Special thanks to my best friends, Sheryl and Bruce, as they were hit from so many different directions with so many different failures almost simultaneously. Even though they were most concerned about my health, they also had to contend with the lost of our web server, DSL modem, email server, and the cancellation of a major trip to NARCON to release our spring models. With their persistence and some help from friends, they kept everything going. They made me more proud of them than I had ever thought I could be. They never gave up!

As we go forward, some lessons are learned and some observations are noted. As I read though these posts, think about the events of the past week, and remember all the ways we have been touched over the past eight years, it is clear than SEMROC is much more than me or Sheryl or Bruce. It is an experience shared by thousands with a common goal of keeping the legends, memories, and icons of our past alive. It is a great family of friends to be a part of.

I am trying to arrange to have their newest kit shipped up to me so that I can have it for NARCON ...
Thanks for the generous offer. You and Kathy are true friends!

Carl, I'm so glad to hear from you.

Take care, please.

And don't scare me like that again!

I was waiting to read a post from the man himself before posting.

Get well.

Carl,

It is very good to see you are back home and obviously doing much better. Please take care, we are all pulling for you.

Very good news sir ,please take care and all the best in your recovery.

Sincerely yours;

Paul T

You missed a great hike while you were in the hospital. Our Scout troop went for a six miler on Saturday (including my two that you met at NARAM-51). It rained, and it was cold, but everyone dressed appropriately and we all had a great time.

Hope you're back on your feet in no time.:)
