I already have a Deuce in it's normal "kit in a bag" version.

I, like most of you really like this little dually. I thought, what can
I do with one of the many other Deuces that I have hanging around.

Well, I have numerous other kits hanging around also, so here is what I married.

I now have a Mk109-Stingray-Deuce.:D

I modified the Deuce nose cone ever so slighty to make a transition so I could stick the Mk109 on the end of it. It still
separates normally at the transition/nosecone.

Take a look....

Nice rocket!!!!! Does it have 18mm motor tubes? I wonder about the added weight.........

With that in mind.......... What kind of altitude will a deuce get on say B6-4's? C6-5's?
 
My Deuce XL-5 is pretty heavy (~6.5oz) and fly's well on C6-3s. I found my stock Deuce likes C6-5s better.
 
The Deuce goes about *this* high on B's and *that* high on C's

I love this bash of the Deuce's Wild! kit! In fact, I've been inspired by TRF and all of the scale-like adaptations of the Deuce's Wild! and thought I'd try my hand at it, but with a different kit (see new thread shortly :D )

Randy, great job, but let's see some clothes on this thing! not to mention launch pix!!

Attached is the RockSim version 5 file which can be viewed with the demo version of RockSim for the FlisKits Deuce's Wild. You will have to compile the canted engine file that comes in the zip file from the Essence Rocket Reviews Site.

After I bought a block of balsa, determined to make my own because I didn't want to pay the $6 shipping for a $2 piece, I took another look at that Deuce nose cone and thought, I could use that, so I did.
I cut it down just a little so the Mk109 would fit and went from there.:D

I don't want anyone to feel guilty 'cause they decided to "make their own" nose cones or transitions instead of having me make them.

I'm doing it more for "fun" than a business. I'm just trying to fill a need.

And maybe get a little "hobby cash" while I'm at it.

I've notice my wife has not given me one dirty look since I started making cones and stuff.

Especially when she gets the check statements and sees a deposit from Paypal. hehe.

As if I didn't have enough projects on my to-do-list already.........

BTW, TefRoc, not too concerned with flight profile, just stability if modifications are made. Will the Cp and Cg calcs be close enough without the canted engine inputs?
 
The CP and CG are determined by the designs overall shape and not the engines. You could get away with not using the canted motor files in your simulations since the Cos of 15 degrees is 0.9659, thus you get about 96% of the thrust in the upward direction when canting the motor by 15 degrees. The CP and CG will change only if you change the shape e.g. length, fin span, etc. of the outside of the rocket. Canting the motors to a 45 degree angle will give about 70% of the thrust in the upward direction, since motors are rated at +/- 20 % of the labeled value even this large cant angle may not cause much of a difference in flight performance.

I was referring to the balsa company you suggested to me.
You price was better then theirs.. Your shipping wasn't as high.
If I hadn't stumbled into a solution I would have asking you for a little sandman assistance.

Would it be a good idea to insert a 3" or so tube coupler inside the main body tube right in front of the engines to reinforce and protect the tube from the angled ejection gases? Barely affects the Cg on Rsim.....
 
Yes this would be a good idea if you really want to extend its life. This was discussed for the Tour deDeuce project.
