First, I want to start by giving Jason Toft (aka jetra2) a HUGE pat on the back for his extensive efforts to get rocketry out into the community. Since I've known Jason, we've been on the local news to raise awareness of the Homeland Security issues we're facing, taught a model rocketry class to a group of young 10-14 year olds, and gotten the ball rolling on a projectthat will send everyone's favorite rocket around the US. I personally don't think many young adults aged around 15-17+ have as much ambition as he does. Kudos to Jason for his efforts!
Our latest Jason-initiated project was to put together a rocketry display at his local public library. Granted, this effort won't reach the masses, but is truly a great job on getting the word out and exposing more people to rocketry. By simply asking for the space, Jason aquired empty shelving in a locked glass case for us to display our rockets and rocket-related items. (ie - books, mags, videos, pics, etc) After filling the case to the max, we looked it over and both agreed at how awesome our display was.
Have a look. Enjoy. Be sure to thank Jason for being the productive rocketeer that he is. It is my hope that more young adults like him will become productive members of society.
By the way, I hope this serves as some sort of encouragement for some of you to get out there and do your own little part to contribute to spreading the word. Hopefully the days of rocketry will reach more people than ever before.
