What did you do rocket wise today?

Yeah, that HP206C looks great for the money! I am still new to the microcontroller realm so I went with overpriced parts to start with.

launch few RTF Estes Rocket in Winds near 25 mph ( up to C ) , was a good practice on the sizing or absence or chutes and angle of the rod.

I have been doing random electronics projects just to try and develop some skills with a soldering iron and microcontrollers. It is all to make rocketry stuff eventually so I guess turning my toaster into a toaster counts as doing something in rocketry :)

Finished up one of my rocketry electronics projects: DIY Altusmetrum Telemega from scratch. Hand-placing the surface mount components wasn't too difficult, but very tedious. The bonus was a 100% success rate. Extra one listed in the Yard Sale. I hope to fly it this weekend; time will tell. (No launch this weekend. Here's hoping for August.) I'm still planning out my first ground-up electronics project.

Found some good Missiles to consider scratchbuilding. The Soviet S-200 Angara looks quite attractive.

Putting the final touches on my Ricochet. I totally guessed the wrong shade of blue for the top half. I may sand it down and redo it later.

I have been working on my scratch built "Emasculator" for the last few weeks. She will be my first DD. Honey-do lists have taken priority over the rocket.

UPS man just dropped off a package and it turns out I have received a free pint kit of Aeropoxy Structural Adhesive...

Finished Astron Elliptic 1.

Nicely done.

Thanks.
It was supposed to be "Astron Elliptic II" but one of the Body Tubes was crushed beyond repair in Shipment due to a Moron sending it it a plain, non-padded Brown Envelope.
I could'nt bear to waste such a beautiful Set of Waterslide Decals, so I worked with what I could salvage and made it a Single Stage Rocket.

Added another post to my DS Extreme build thread here:

Then drug myself back into the laundry room/epoxy room to sand down the external fillets. Twelve of them were done in Rocketpoxy, and four were Proline 4500. I got so frustrated with the Rocketpoxy, I finished the last ones with Proline. Not only did the Proline come out much nicer, but it was much easier to sand down. In my opinion, Rocketpoxy is still the best structural epoxy for the buck, but I've done my last external fillet with it. I spent at least three hours sanding down the Rocketpoxy fillets, and less than 30 minutes on the Proline.
I know the experts can cite all kinds of data on what works best, but from a layman's perspective, Proline is easier to work with, and does much nicer fillets.

Received a prototype 3D printer. The company that my mother works for is looking to sell them so its my job to play with it.

I have to wait until my sister leaves town with her kids before I can play.

Man you are seriously like a rocket factory, how many builds do you have?

My Fleet of Flyable Birds numbers 13. Not very prolific caompared to most Folks here, but I've only been a BAR since August of last Year, and 5 of my Birds are 13mm, so make what you want of it.
I'm totally re-hooked on Rocketry!:)

Finally digging into the new Odd'l Rockets Blog!

www.oddlrockets.com

Kit and accessory listings and dealer pages are being added. It'll be an ongoing project.
Now if I could just get the page topper to the right size width!

Built a 24mm / 29mm adaptor for an upscale Astro-1.

Laid out the materials to prep models for tomorrow's flight in Wilsonville, OR.

Printed my first water slide decal in years. Film is a little brittle, but I think I can make it work. Just needs to dry overnight and then clear coat.

worked on my 24mm Super Alpha cause I couldn't got launch rockets.

Beautiful weather most of the month and on the day when there are 2 seperate club lauches they are cancelled because of rain.

- Repaired broken fin on the viking
- Despite all advice, added much weight to the viking's nose cone
- Started building the estes novia (all is assembled, first primer coating on nose cone)

Sanded some more on my DS Extreme fins & fillets. Got the first coat of primer on it, but no cameras are allowed until I sand it some more.
Helped my wife Sharon finish her 4" Jimbo Jart and do the ejection tests. Since tonight is a full moon, we decided to do the "Wildman's Oath" with our two new rockets tonight. No cameras allowed for that one either, it's a little weird....

I cleaned the motor HW from Beach Blast. And I ordered a bunch of new reloads from AMW! Looking forward to Fall launches.

Launched the Estes Riptide on a B6-4 and a C6-5. First time launching with a C motor. Winds were ~15 Km/h. The Riptide went high and far. I was really hoping for the chute to deploy, otherwise it ended up on a street or in the river. :p

I recovered it 50 m from the launchpad. :)

Well, I went to my first launch in 10 months. (My knee and back issues have kept me from playing more). I sent up my Public Enemies Predator, on and AT I-200. This motor was loaded over 4 years ago for another project, (long story), and I felt I had to either fly it or burn it. It flew just fine! I did put an altimeter in it, wasn't sure about the delay grain. It just shows that an old motor, properly stored, CAN be used. I'm not gonna make a habit of that, however.
Next, I sent up a Formula 38 on a Cesaroni F-240. Some of the spectators were surprised at how quick this left the pad.
But, I gotta confess, the most fun was a little boost glider kit I picker up a while back. I sent it up on an A8-3, the pod separated and came back on it's streamer, and the glider made three lazy circles, and landed about 3 feet from the pad. It was a very good day!
