You will have to be more specific.

They've been inundated since they announced their closing and Sheryl had mentioned in a post that it may be a bit before your order is shipped—as opposed to it appearing like magic at your doorstep as it usually did.

Placed a order got it in a timely manner. But got a wrong item. Contacted them about it and found out a refund was issued instead of sending the correct item out, which is in stock. So now to get what I need, I have to place another $20.00 order. What kind of crap is that? Sounds like bad business to me. I have always had great customer service, but this just doesn't go down well.

Give them some consideration with their situation. Reorder what you need, you know you're going to get your money's worth. Besides, it's a problem you'll never have to deal with again.:(

Don't see how you got "hosed". Your first order was wrong item but it was FREE. You won't get any sympathy here with your attitude.

You haven't been 'hosed' yet -- you've run into a delivery glitch from a company which in the past has had a VERY good record of customer service and whose (sole) owners are dealing with an utterly catastrophic run of events (death of father who founded the company, life-threatening illness of the son who tried to step in), who were forced into the very regrettable decision to close the company, and are having a difficult time in the short run trying to keep up with a sudden onslaught of orders.

The situation will eventually get fixed. In the meantime, grow up.

Hm. Not much (any) sympathy to be had here.

Jester,

You are maligning a much beloved family business that is in its final days. While it is regrettable that the part you were looking for wasn't available, and won't be again from this company under its current ownership, you are not out anything, except for a bit of time, and perhaps a small amount of money needed to purchase the needed parts from another vendor. Get over it.

Your attitude in this matter hasn't gained you any friends. Now would be a very good time to close this identity down, and try again fresh with another (unrecognizable and more understanding) one. Nine posts and you've already burned your bridges.

Sir, you need to understand that many of us here have done business with Semroc for years and quite few of us are personal friends of this family. Our hearts were broken when Carl passed away unexpectedly. We prayed and sent money to help with medical costs when Bruce was in the hospital. Through it all, we selfishly hoped that Semroc would survive but alas, that was not to be. Those of us who can, will make one last order to buy some of the rockets we always intended to buy "when he time was right." Nearly all of us will miss out on some of the things we always dreamed of adding to our collections. Are we sad? Yes. Are we angry? No. We are saddened that our friends are hurting. We would do more if we thought we could somehow help from half a continent away. Their family business, their pension, and their dreams are leaving them one box at a time. Your griping about one mistake is not going to help.

It may sound a little cold, but you aren't going to find many here with much sympathy for you.

We'll save our sympathy for those who need it most.

Is that some kind of threat K'Tesh ?

Cast the beam from your own eye first, then you can pluck the mote form Semroc. A company and family that has done more for the hobby in a day than most will do in a life time, we have been lucky to know them. You apparently have suffered greatly from this catastrophe drop me a line and we can hug it out.

No, it's a promise.

You have a career total of 10 posts and more than half are in this thread p****ing and moaning about ONE order getting fudged up, of which the odds are 99.8% it will be fixed in a matter of about 3 days.

SEMROC is in an extremely unfortunate and sad situation brought about by a really almost unbelieveable series of misfortunes and they (Sheryl and Bruce) are working extremely hard to deal with a onslaught of orders they really never anticipated under the circumstances.

Many people, I would be very confident in saying MOST people, active in model rocketry are very sad to see SEMROC, the variety of products they offered and the true enthusiasm they had (and have) for the hobby go. They will be greatly missed.

SEVERAL DAYS AGO, they posted on several different forums (including this one) that they were struggling to keep up with orders and asking for patience for minor delays. Over the years they have established a good-to-brilliant reputation for going every possible mile to keep customers happy so there are not too many people here who are going to be willing to believe they have suddenly turned into shifty grifters scheming to cheat you out of your little nose cone or whatever the he** it is you are ordering.

Maybe you knew nothing about any of this, but if you were on this forum at all, you should have noticed threads about the SEMROC situation clicked a couple of them, and had some inkling about what is going on.

If you take the time to resolve this situation like a grownup, it will get taken care of soon enough. In the meantime the best advice for you here (I haven't checked to see if you are pulling the same act on other forums) would be to quit while you are behind, pull the plug on this username, register another, and talk about building and flying rockets.

Brilliantly stated!!! Now lets build and fly!!

I had not heard of the difficulties nor decisions that have affected SEMROC. I have built only one of their kits and I was duly impressed with the SCALE model. I got it off a vendor at a launch two years ago. He remembers that I bought it and I think he's a little jealous that I got it instead of him. Now I know why. Does anyone know how much longer SEMROC will be honoring their orders? Or still be in business?

They are continuing to honor orders for anything on their site. This list is dwindling fast. Also do not expect quick shipping as they are inundated with orders right now. You could try other vendors that sell Semroc if their site is out of something. Most of the unique kits are gone from all sources though.

Anyone else having problems with semroc orders?

Placed a order got it in a timely manner. But got a wrong item. Contacted them about it and found out a refund was issued instead of sending the correct item out, which is in stock. I did that. That's why I placed the order...

So move on then! Your not the one that's being hosed!!

Sure whatever boys.

You need to STFU. The business is dying, Sheryl and Bruce are not in good health, and they have no choice but to close up shop due to health issues.
You're lucky to get anything at all at this point. They are both probably working at least 6+ hours every night finishing up what orders they have plus the flood we all put in once we all heard they were closing shop.

I myself put in a order with 3 kits in the order. I was sent a notification of payment confirmation, order pending processing, then order shipped within 2 days, and given what they are going thru, that is absolutely outstanding service from my point of view.

The others are also correct: So far all you have is complained. We're not listening. Take your refund and thank your lucky stars you got one. Try that one out with K&S rocketry.

Beating up on Semroc over an honest mistake is going to win you as many friends here as kicking puppies, stealing cookies from Girl Scouts and peeing on the U.S. flag.

On this forum, getting belligerent about Semroc's customer service at this particular time will make you about as popular as a peodophile with leprosy. Maybe less.

Jester, the reason you got a refund is that they probably no longer have the item you originally ordered. When a business is closing, those are the cards you are dealt. Do you absolutely know the item you want is in stock? With the large number of orders they are taking, things may run out of stock before the website can get updated.
