I've looked in the gallery section but didn't find it listed...any pictures? I ask because I just bought one and am curious to see how others have done theirs. thanks,
Rex

Did you get that one that's been in the back of Tim's trailer for so long? I hope so, it's been taunting me.

lol, ayup. now Tim will have to find a different kit to put there :). got it at a good price (less than hobbylinc...and that was before the Wildman club).

Good git! I'm curious to see what goes there next, you know no space can go unfilled in there.

Here's mine... I went with a grey primer/white/orange scheme. I trimmed the "RMY" from the decal to make it read "USA".

The square plastic lugs were the biggest challenge I had with this one- they would constantly pop off. Finally went with
an AT ignitor tube on-the-field repair (still needs paint).

thanks for the pictures. if weight isn't a problem...one can get square tubing...in brass:).

Mine minus any decal/stickers. The dark color is actually more of a gunship Grey..

Here's some pics of mine. I did Blue Angle color scheme & detailed with a bunch of vinyl left over from other builds.

Later I added another Warthog section & made it dual deploy.

Of course the first one left out the motor hook & used Kevlar for shock cord. Added rail buttons. Other than that it was stock including the baffle, chore-boy and chute [but from a Mirage when doing DD due to added weight . Flew perfectly fine on those plastic fins on any load in the 240 case.

might not be the sleekest bird...but it looks like it should last a while :). I decided to cut the forward ends of the tunnels at a 45 degree angle and close them off with a bit of paper super glued on.

It is great to see all the different paint/finishing schemes for the Wart-Hog.

When I was designing the model 22 years ago (Has it been THAT long?!) I wanted the model to recall the US Army Hellfire anti-tank missile (And not feature any white color).

I wanted a stubby rounded nose cone but there wasn't any money for a new nose cone mold and Estes wasn't going to sell AeroTech cases of PNC-80BB nose cones.

So that's why the kit turned out the way it did.

Years later I did build/finish a Wart-Hog kit to look like my original idea/design.

Other AeroTech staff also came up with their own finishing schemes for the model (One was a nice desert sand/cammo finish. I have a picture of it somewhere).

Thanks for buying and flying Wart-Hog kits! :)

the problem with camo is, trying to find it... it is nice to see what the original idea looked like. speaking of pictures...current progress of mine, assembly complete waiting for paint. box was/is a tad bit worn :), and there was a little water damage to the instructions, but overall the kit was in good shape.

if one were to swap out the nose for a bertha type it would look much like a 'Hellfire anti-tank missile'...and it would be awesome in a 4" (original Hellfire spec.s 64"L by 7" dia.).

so that is how the box display thingy works :), haven't run across that in the instructions :).

Is or was the Warthog a real rocket? Army,Navy?? I could see a warthog 4" with a metal tip nose cone.
No, the Warthog is not a scale model. The only scale kits made by Aerotech are the IQSY Tomahawk, the HV Arcas, and the Astrobee D. The Warthog and many of the second group and later AeroTech kits were figments of Bob Sanford's (aka Initiator001's) imagination.

got it painted, and in 7 days it should be fully chip resistant :).

thank you kind sir. now to see if it flies well. I've decided to use a top flite 24" chute after discovering the stock chute(22") to be unraveling.
