GT is an interesting set from Panasonic... Much better input lag than the ST60, but just as good a picture. Problem is, it's hard to find in the USA.

Costco sells the S60 which is a ridiculous value for a 60" plasma with its image quality.

Being this plasma set is my 1st flat panal screen, it replaced a Sony Trintron CRT tv, which refused to die, the only complaint is that the screen is very glossy.
Like glass. There is foreground reflection, if a lamp lite is opposite to it.
Best viewed in low lite.

The GT is a better panel than the ST. THX certified etc. As I understand the quality from from good to better is ST, GT, VT.

Not close. 5 years until we see mainstream sizes at mainstream prices. Oled currently suffers from burn in as well, it will advance, but if looking at a TV right now, don't hold your breath for oled.

+1 to r1dermon's post, though I don't game and didn't care about the "input lag" issue. I bought a panny 60ST60 and love it. Great set. Awesome image quality. They are going fast, under $1500, never to be made again.

The OP stated he is in the market for a much larger set, so I will end my remarks here.

Panasonic is stopping all production of all plasmas. From the bargain S models, to the flagship ZT. Presumably because oled is on the horizon. Oled can achieve just as deep a black level as the best plasmas. Most Panasonic plasmas can be found at 65", if picture quality is the most important factor, I'd strongly recommend looking at a Panasonic plasma if the extra 10" can be omitted for a lightyears better picture quality.

Another option for plasma is Samsung f8500 set. Much brighter, less burn in (as tested by cnet), but slightly lower picture quality than the VT series, and more expensive for what you get.

Is that this year? I love my Panny Plasma and finishing a basement remodel where I want to add a set.

Thanks for the heads-up. Ordering a P65VT60 as we speak.

Get a Panasonic plasma... Problem solved... Unless you have alot of cash a runco plasma...

With reviews like that who can resist! I don't have any daughters available for white slavery just now, but maybe this would be a good time to cash in my penny collection buckets. Hell, the energy savings alone would pay back the investment in a mere 42,000 years!

Finally got my Panny 65VT60 hung on the wall. I thought my 3yo 50G25 had fantastic PQ but my the PQ on the VT60 is jaw dropping! Thanks to those in this thread who have me the heads up on getting a Panny before they are all gone.
