CTRA-NARCONN May 4th Launch

Another CTRA launch is about a week away. The past couple of launches have had a great turn out, hoping that the same goes for this launch!

Who's planning to attend, and what projects are you bringing?

I am tentatively planning on flying the following:

• Rocketry Warehouse Formula 38 - AT G76-10G - Another attempt at cable cutter dual deploy, altimeter is in the cone.
• LOC Lil' Nuke Pro Maxx - AT G64W - Another RRC3 Beta test flight, this time utilizing a LiPo battery.
• Performance Rocketry Intimidator 3 - Loki J175LW Moon - Long burn flight to 3,500'.

Missed the last one , so definitely looking forward to this one.

Really wish the launches were on my weekends off work as I would love to attend.

And I wish they were back on the weekends that my wife works!

You guys need to give me a list of days that are good & we'll see if we can work this out

Same here. I work every other weekend so the majority of the launches end up on those weekends.

I hope to make this my first CTRA launch. What to fly my Camiator (camera rocket) and test new GPS with Bluetooth ground station that lets my track my rocket with my smart phone.

Yea I hope the day turns out like today

Saturdays weather is looking absolutely perfect!

And of course, as we get closer, my plans change. I will be there in the morning and then heading over 87 to Saugerties for a family get together.

My only flight will be my 5.5" Nike Smoke on an AMW 54-1050 J450ST, airstarting 2x G64W's via my RRC3 Beta. RRC3 and RRC2 have deployment duties, hopefully coming back softly under a 60" Skyangle coming out of a Skyangle free bag.

If that goes smoothly, I may be able to get my Lil' Nuke up on a G80T to prove its dual deployment scheme. We'll see.

These plans came 1st let them wait.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I'll be at this launch. I'll be flying my G3 on whatever looks fun in Robert's trailer. I got my start in HPR with CTRA back in 2002, so it'll be cool to fly with them again.

Forecast looks favorable, to say the least!

Nope, I am going the classic AMW route. Apologies for not circling back.

Central motor is a 3 grain J450ST. Great bang for the buck, should get about 1,500' to 1,800' with the two G64W air starts. Pressed some small pieces of pyrodex pellets into the slot of the grains of the G's, really hoping they light!

Anyone attending the launch have a long-lead Q2G2 or small-head e-match I can buy from them? I failed to realize that my J-Tek e-match heads DO NOT FIT through a G64 nozzle. I have one long Q2G2, and I am 100% against building an e-match into a motor.

I've done this for the same reason of the E-match not fitting. However NOTHING! gets connected to any type of power source till the rocket is ON the pad and altimeters armed.

Dan, I have a bunch of the 8'' ( I believe) Q2's or some Wildman Little 'uns, (dont know if they are small enough)

That's exactly what I need. I only had one of the 8" Q2's left for some reason. I'll put an order in to Hobbylinc for future flights, but for Saturday I'll bum one off you. Really hope these air starts light!

Started loading up the car. Both rockets are essentially ready to go on the pad, apart from building a 54-1050 motor (which takes all of 5 minutes). I'll be testing out a Raven 1 that I received a couple weeks ago in a trade. The unit has been misbehaving a bit, so I will be testing it in my Lil Nuke with motor back up.

I'll be bringing Mr. DeBrita with me. Plan on donuts tagging along with me, as well!

Yup was prepping last night and got some more to do tonight. K1085WT in my 5.5" Nike Smoke and an L910CS in the Gizmo XL. May have some SD flights as well. Weather is looking great, see you boys on the field.

Grabbed the batteries last night to top off charge, have to exchange out the propane tank for the grill tonight.

Will have backup Donuts :wink:
