What did you do rocket wise today?

Bought some silicone covered 20 gauge wire in red and white for my av bay wiring.

I also made the mistake of looking at my credit card bill and after a quick tally of my rocketry purchases I decided I need to go on a diet. Who needs food anyway?

*whew* All 14 of my newest builds are now primered and wetsanded. My paint stock is a little low, payday is the time to restock on white, red, yellow, and orange. Got lots of black, flat black, flat white, and primer to last. Be ordering motors, too, probibly 2 dozen A's of various sorts. That way all I have to do to fly is go out back to the pasture...I'm sure Russ's goats won't mind, they never have ;)

Well, I pulled the trigger on the first part of my Cineroc clone project... I just ordered a Mini DVR 808 #16 from eletoponline365. I've been familiar with this camera for some time thanks to Techmoan's reviews on YouTube.

I still wish that the camera was waterproof (I have bicycling uses for the camera, but living in the PNW water is an issue). That said, I have a very bad feeling that I will soon own a fleet of these cameras, as I may soon embark on my rocket design career (aside from my schooling (TESOL)).

Having last night off for the holiday, I thought I'd do something productive today. After I got that stupid idea out of my head, I built another rocket.:D

Started work on my Trifecta. It's the only 3 stage rocket I can launch in the small area of Santa Fe Damn while the @$^&*#@%^&* renaissance fair is there...
I just have to convince them that it goes 200' on 3 A10-0's ;)

sorry for your loss. now you'll have to build a rocket to match your logo :).

Built another Saturn 1b fin. They take about 15 minutes, each, so by the end, I'll have about 2 hours in them, but they look pretty slick!

Getting ready to prime these for Pack 115. Narrow window of opportunity. 70s today and tomorrow and then chance for snow Sunday night-Monday. And I still need to try to finish my five. Next rocketry class April 4 with the Victoria Grade School. I love this time of the year. If the wind wasn't blowing I'd launch a couple! Ordered my 8" Q2G2s the other day, should have them by the middle of the week. Hopefully, next weekend will be as nice and I can maiden launch my seven motor cluster and try out my camera.

Happy Easter all!

The only sure cure for that I know is shoot a thin coat of clear along the tape line. Very thin. It will seal the tapeline so no paint will "migrate".

Zooch? I've been thinking of buying one lately. SA-5 and Vostock. I built a paper SA-5 last year, loved it and found the Zooch kit recently. Gotta have one.

Semroc.

I'm working on fin #4, right now.

Made some more progress on the first of three 7.5" rockets slated to be test-mules for 4" research motors.

Cut some CRs (7.5 x 4"), BPs and CPs using my router and Jasper Jig.

Also worked on a 7.5" NC....It's thin-wall FG I got from a rocket buddy. MFG unknown, but it is very lightweight (vintage early 90s). I added a LOC coupler, then added a LOC 'Stiffy' coupler. After foaming, I'll add a BH with appropriate hardware....

Crashed my kid's Alpha III. We were trying to do a night launch, with an LED strobe. First flight, on a B, the strobe went out at launch but the rocket landed safely. Second flight, on a C, the strobe went out at launch and the parachute never came out and the rocket bent when if fell on a parking lot. This is Leah's second rocket. It's had a fulfilling and relatively long life. Leah is already making plans for a new rocket we're going to build, so all is well :=)

We are planning to attend the Dairy Aire night launch in May, and Leah is very excited. This is our first attempt at light effects, and clearly, we need to work on our electronics and their stability under acceleration :=) We do have lightsticks for some of our larger models.

Did one thing today. I joined the Rocketry Forum!

Heh, Hi new guy.

As for me, nothing, really. It was beautiful out today, just didn't feel good all day. I did get to WallyWorld for a can of white spray paint so tomorrow it's white painting time :)

More priming for me, two more coats on Sharon's Squat and the first coat on my Rip-Roar clone. Weighed the Rip-Roar before I started painting, surprisingly enough, it's light! 6.9 oz. with kevlar cord and a 24" nylon chute.
