So who's going? Weather looks like bright sun, low winds and temps in the mid 40's. Fr the last launch of the year, it's looking pretty darned good! :)

I will have a full booth and some more Proto's to fly, including a modification to the Celtic Thunder booster.

If you need any parts or accessories from me, be sure to send me an email!

See you this weekend :)

Damit Jim, just bring some cake!

I know, I know, your a rocketeer, not a baker!

Don't forget that this is also our night launch. We're going to start setup at 10:00 and start flying at 11:00. We'll fly until around 3:45 and tear down the range (sunset is at 4:19) and set up some pads near the road to do the night flights.

Last year was my first time at the night launch. Could you remind me of the guidelines for flying? I seem to recall there were some limitations on rocket weight, altitude, etc. Thanks

From the email I sent out last year (and will send out again in a day or so):

Your rocket must weigh less than 1 pound, must have some kind of light on it and must not fly higher than 1000 feet.

Bring some kind of light to hang on yourself.

You should prep your rockets in advance because even putting the clips on is difficult in the dark.

Sigh ...

Once again, work and a busy family schedule will keep me from attending a CMASS launch.

I'm sorry to miss it, and maybe things will ease up a bit come spring.

See you all then!

Another successful CMASS day and night launch. A few cool CATO's on the pad, one look like a Roman candle. I got some pics and video of a few launches, buy my camera broke

I fixed it.

Unfortunately I had to work today. I hope the winds were as gentle up there as they were here in Norwood.

Some pictures.

John's Big Brute. If you look closely you can see that people are really enjoying the show.

Wow. Last year I was chasing a booster as it blew horizontally in the wind. The only anomaly this year was my Vk-IIbe launch. Everyone, including me, got focused on the wadding from the upper stage as it drifted north. Meanwhile, the upper stage came down quickly and safely to the west. It's nearly 3' long and no one saw it! Jim Flis said to me afterwards, "You mean I took three photos of some wadding?!?!" It went into the tall grass by a few feet so you could not see if from the field but I walked along the edge later in the afternoon and found it right away.

Some captures from my videos of my launches:

1. Vk-IIbe on an E12-0 and two D12-3's in the bboster and an E9-8 in the upperstage.
2. Aerobee HI on a CTI G133 Smokey Sam
3. Estes Nike Smoke on a CTI F29 Imax
4. NCR Sonic Seduction on three D12-5's.

Looking forward to next spring!

Jim, the 8th picture in your album from this launch is the Vk-IIbe taking off. Nice shot! :D

I will update the album this afternoon. Got about 70 pix posted. It was a spectacular last launch of the season, that's for sure! I got a LOT of micro Proto flights in (about 12).

I've attached some pix here, but you can see then all on our site (click PHOTO ALBUMS and yesterday's launch will be the first link :)

Now to get to work on some new kit documentation!

Great end to the flying season.

There are some pictures in the CMASS gallery and there will be more coming soon.

For the record, the rocket that I planted during the night launch still has the clay cap. And yes, I did fill out a MESS report.

This is quoted out of Boris's Hellboy 70 thread but applies more generally to the CMASS launch.

I have my photo album from this launch posted on FlisKits, including this flight. Great stuff!

From Jim's photo, I found our culprit (scroll to bottom of page). About all we can do is contact Eagle East and ask them to pay more attention to the NOTAMs.

Jim, Sorry i can't make it to the launch, I will be at home (Oregon) wish i could be there
