The Eagle Claw is finished. Airbrushed everything including rivets (what a pain that was). Clear coated with automotive two part clear urethane. Final weight came to just under 17lbs with everything but motor. Have a CTI K-780 Blue Streak to go with the blue flames on the fins. I'm glad I went with the filament wound nose cone, really is a nice addition.

I wish I had the skills and patience to finish a rocket like that.... That paint job is amazing! I think the kit manufacturers on here ought to send you some free kits in exchange for doing a build and finishing/photographing the completed kit for their website...

That is an UNBELIEVABLE paint job! And the rocket ain't half bad, either!

WOW - that is very cool!

I assume airbrush work is what you do for a living. How long does it take you to complete a finish like that?

Wow!!!! The only way I could get a rocket that looked that good would be to use a Stickershock wrap. I am lucky to get nice straight lines with tape between the fins and BT. Totally Awesome rocket!!

Beautiful, wonderful, awesome, fantastic, and all those other similar adjectives. :D I would be afraid to fly it!

I was actually an infantryman and then weapons sergeant. I just airbrush as a hobby but thank you for the compliment. This finish took a couple weeks, the rivets were very time consuming.

Wow. It might be too pretty to fly!

No such thing. I never build anything that I'm not willing to lose. If it burns in on the first flight, no big deal. That'll just give me an excuse to do another.

Big mistake. I am a hater by trade and you just made my list. FYI I don't hate the game, I hate the player!

Not really sure what that means but I love you too Dave.

Thanks Mike, but after looking at your build I know that you have the skills. As far as the manufacturer / Wildman goes, I wasn't too happy with the service but I'm not going to get into that here.

GREAT looking finish! Make sure to take some pictures when it flies

Beautiful launch this weekend with a K-630 Blue Streak. Wanted to have a blue flame coming out to match the airbrushed blue flames. Flight went perfectly.

AWESOME!!!! And there I was, thinking I did pretty good yesterday when I spayed the final color coat on my LOC Doorknob and only got 2 gnats in the paint......

What altitude did it reach?? You can't tease us with those gorgeous launch pics without some specs to go with the flight! :)

Thanks Bill and Neon,
Always seems impossible to get a completely perfect paint job, there is always a flaw somewhere; luckily the painter is usually the only one who knows about it.
I like to see the entire launch including apogee charge on the initial flight just to make sure everything worked as planned so I went with a K-light CTI K-630 BS. The K-630 put it up to 4190ft @ 364 mph. Weight was 17lbs 2oz w/ 54mm casing (no motor). I have a 5 Grain K-780 Blue Streak for flight #2 and will go with a 6 Grain K-820 BS for #3 if that goes well.

Beautiful job on the paint and nice choice of rocket. I have a GLR Talon 4 that looks pretty cool but I cheated and used STICKERSHOCK23 to make me look good.

Thanks Glen, I have a Talon 3 and love it. I wanted a Talon 4 and waited over 4 months for them to come back in stock but finally gave up and went with the Eagle Claw. I haven't tried them but it looks like stickershock has a great product.
