1987 Mazda 626. 204,000 miles, 36mpg average, daily driver. My 'new' car is a 1988 GMC van, for when I have to take everything to launches.

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot with 126k on the clock. I love the Pilot but the gas mileage does stink. It hovers around 20-ish depending on if you're doing a lot of highway miles or not. I suppose that is what I get for having a large vehicle. Fantastic vehicle though.

I also have a 2008 Mini Cooper S with 65000 on the clock. I really enjoy driving this car and it gets 30+ MPG unless you're driving it like you stole it. Then the gas mileage goes down in a hurry (along with the tires it seems). I do worry about the repairs on the Mini as it gets up there in mileage. I have had more sensors go bad than anything else on this car. It is handy to have all these features until you need to pay 200 bucks to replace a wire....

Yippee! I LOVE rally driving-too old now but this car just looks awesome to my younger self! I hope you had fun collecting the new paint job! I know I would have!
BTW- 91 Nissan Sentra-267,000 and 93 Aerostar (the Rocket Queen-a.k.a. 'Mobile Hanger No.1') a youngster at 109,000. Wife just killed her Dodge Intrepid w/254,000 and now drives the Rocket Queen until I get her another car.

You're never too old to play in the mud... i quite regularly get my car that muddy...

Oldest car that I currently drive? My current car is a 2004 Kia Optima. I only need one car to get me to my destination. I can't figure out how I would drive more than one since I can only operate one at any given moment. My Optima has 141,000 miles on the odo. It gets around 27 mpg highway, and where I live, it's all highway. My wife and I share this car. In this environment, a nine year old car is really up there in age.

It wasnt too long ago that my 94 Tracker died, and I bought a 77 Dodge Aspen from my Nephew in a pinch. It had the 318, carburated of course, with a manual choke kit. Try starting that during a cold MN winter!!! It was a gorgeous cream color with whilte vinyl seats and sky blue dash and carpet. Mint condition. After a few months, I sold it. Currently my vehicles are a 2003 Mazda 6 & 2009 Honda Odyssey EXL...

1987 AMC Eagle Wagon all wheel drive driven just for fun and in bad weather. Has just over one hundred thousand on it. I try not to love inanimate objects but i love this thing

1998 Ford E150 Chateau Club Wagon - 155,000 miles and still going. Drive it every day. Maybe 12MPG.

Not daily driven at the moment until I can get my dual Weber carbs retuned, but 1969 VW Beetle that is far from stock. I've had it for 30 yrs. now. Got me through high school, college, and life so far.

2000 Dodge Stratus ES. 175K or so on it. Had 6 miles on it when I bought it. Almost a teenager now.

88 corvette. Somebody replaced the core support and welded it way crooked so the hood and bumper dont line up even close. I had to replace the engine last year, the transmission and u joints this year. Exhaust is rotten, injectors drip, roof panel is kludged because somebody had forgotten to bolt it down or something, weatherstripping crumbling, seat crooked, headlights take a couple tries to pop up, chrome rims peeling so bad they wont seal... but it drives as well as I always hoped.

1977 GMC Motorhome for launch weekends.

My current ride: 2009 Explorer Sport Trac Adrenalin V8 AWD next to my old one, a 2001 Sport Trac given to my son.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee- been working on fixing it up and keeping it running since 6th grade when I got it to start so I wouldn't be late for school. Just got my license, so I have been driving it all over the place. namely Pep boys, Advance auto parts, the junk yard (for those model-specific parts). Probably won't ever get rid of it :)

*edit* In case you are wondering, the car is in fact older than I am. my mom bought it in january, I was born in march.

1978 Datsun 280Z with about 220K miles. Had it since new, restored once, still drive it to work sometimes when conditions are too ugly for the Harley.

I Had a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am up till last Oct.
It had almost 183k on it.
Everything was going on it but, the last straw was when it starting leaking coolant.
I now have a 2009 Charger (V6 not the V8).

Did you have to replace the transmission?

Hmmm, yeah. By that criteria, I wouldn't mind having one of these...

Were they all that bad, or is something really wrong with yours? I'd check the o2 sensor, tps, etc. I had a 96 firebird that averaged 24mpg and would get as high as 33mpg. Theres no reason for an accord to be so much worse. That's as bad as my vette, which needs a ton of work itsself.

I've got a 1992 Honda Civic DX that continues to trundle on as my main source of transportation. Sad thing is, it gets 30-35 mpg city, which beats a LOT of the newer cars out there. Back in 92, I thought by 2012 cars would routinely be getting 60-70 mpg.

Anybody driving anything older?

Heh, 1991 Honda Civic -- Hatchback (No letter designation)... Bought it in 2000 with a bad engine for $500. Got another engine for $300. The frame has over 250k miles on it, the "new" odometer (I got a dash with a tach at the junk yard :-D) says 150k, the motor, if it's specs were true when I bought it, has only 70-80k miles on it. I LOVE my "Frankencar"! 35 mpg highway, regular gas, tires were $35 each NEW when I replaced them 5 years ago, insurance $25/month, handles like a go-kart and nobody looks twice at it to steal it!
