Has anyone ever thought to combine skyscraper architecture and rockets? There are many buildings that seem like they would lend themselves to being great fliers. Has anyone ever done or seen some?

It's not the most "rocket shaped", but I'd love to build a Sears (NOT #&%$@! Willis) rocket:

At the previous year's LDRS, a bunch of architecture students flew building rockets.

Check out some paper modeling sited for this. This one doesn't have any skyscrapers (I don't think), but it does have some other neat buildings, some of which seem easily flyable: https://cp.c-ij.com/en/contents/2025/list_15_1.html
I'll send a prize to the first person to post flight pics of the Russian Church of the Transfiguration.

Glad you like the Skyrise. Your model looks great. Thanks for posting the photo as I love seeing other folks models of the square kits.

I built "Big John" a semi-scale model of the John Hancock Building in 1998....
https://www.nirarocketry.org/galleryMOM-1998.html Scroll down to November.

It has guts sort of like a model airplane fuselage with a black MonoKote cover and clear Lexan Fins.
For the Antennas I used long white pencil erasers from an office supply store.

I had to add quite a bit of nose weight and designed in a rear deployment parachute. I'll have to see if I have any flight pictures....

Norm,
Did you fly that during our "Launch a Landmark" contest? I thought I remember something like that, but IIRC, that contest was before '98

I don't believe I did but perhaps I heard about it and that was my inspiration...
