What are you flying at Airfest?

As of now Im bringing 5 rockets but more may in the works. I like to have choices when I go to a launch. Four are for fun flying and one will be for my level 2 attempt. I was not planning on making my level 2 attempt so soon this year but I thought, what better time and place to go for it? I know my level 2 bird is not painted yet...I still have three weeks! If your planning a certification flight, lets see you bird(s).

I'll be attempting my L2 on a recently completed and unflown PML Endevour. I'll also bring along 2 other M/HPR and probably 2 dozen LPR to keep my son busy.

Another scratch build I just completed. 4" diameter, 54mm MM, 68" long, 5 lbs with recovery loaded. I want to try something different with the electronics so I mounted the altimeter in the nose cone. I went by GaryT's build thread for his GizmoXL. I'm going to try out the Archtype Rocketry cable cutter system to release my chute. I'll try to post the test pics/video.

Bringing my L1 bird, hoping to have my one ready for my L2 by then, couple of other m/hpr. Nothing too fancy just some things to fly!

My first LVL 1 Certification attempt. Keeping it simple and focusing on the fundamentals. Cosmetic touch ups, then it's complete and ready.

Indeed.

I've spent the past few nights mixing propellant. I should be able to assemble a couple "G" motors. Finding a rocket isn't a problem. One of the "G's" will go in the Gnome drag race.

As of now, I have two 54mm "G's" packed and one 98mm one.

I'm bringing my orange crush on an O5000 white, 4in min diameter on a N, 3in min diameter on a M-moonburner

I ran out of AP... Not a good sign with airfest comming up.

My plans include the 5.5 Polecat Nike Smoke on a K650 Pink and Yardbird on an Aerotech M1297. Yardbird so named as it was a "yard sale" acquisition years ago. Has flown a few times after mucho modification, including a loft at Hellfire a few years back on a RATT M900. And I think I have an EZI 65 to fly on an I 65. And possibly a few other smaller projects.

Well, I've got to take the TMP test first thing :wink:

My dad is shooting for his L3. 4" Darkstar on a Kosdon M2240 fast. The flight is a tribute to our good friend Justyn Palmer, who passed away July 2nd. My dad's TAPs are the same as his from his L3 flight at AIRfest 2009.

I, too, am going to fly my (now slightly shorter) Polecat 5.5" Nike Smoke. We've got an ~L1100 motor that was made by me, my dad, and Justyn. Should be a cool flight.

And last, but not least, we've got a K740 to fly. Not sure if it'll be in the smoke or the darkstar, I guess we'll see.

Marty, Thats impressive. I am pressuming from the photos you won't be doing 2 stages or using 1/2 A's like the original. The other thing I noticed in your pictures was wet concrete. Have you guys been hogging all the rain?

I wish. We've had 1.5 inches over the last week in Norman. That coupled with 10-15 degree cooler temperatures is welcome. Possibly more rain later this week. I hoping for the same cooler temps in Argonia.

You called it, single stage. Planned for a M2000. The young fellow you see in the photo, Braxton, went thru the math exercise to determine how man A's he'd need to equal the planned M2000. Seems to me it was 1024.

What day are you planning on flying it? I have a soft spot for estes upscales.

Thats a lot of "A" motors.

I agree, I hope the weather stays nice and cool. After last years 108 temps we could use a break.

We're telling club members Sunday between 12 and 4.

I'm flying TooCarbYen again this year (4" x 3", on the left below). Last year, there was a problem of some sort and things ended abruptly at about 30K. Hoping for better luck this year. The flight will be on a CTI N2500 to a Gorilla M745. It should do about 45K.

Jim I believe they were actually "G570s" in quarter scale Patriots, At least that's what Tim and I wrote on the flight cards. It's a Chicago thing...:wink:

Some Gs are bigger than others. There are G motors, and then there are Full G motors. Then there are the REALLY full G motors.
