Well i just got home from seeing the new batman...

All I can say DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME..

I LOVED the first two.. this one was about as fun as a root canal without pain medication.. I am SOOOO disappointed.

I have to say that I love and respect Mark and Marian. If he says it sucs, I really need to take that into regard.....

I liked the first one hated second one. I think the third will be a rental.
Cheers
Fred

Guys please make your own decision on the movie. but to me batman should be an adventure. it should be lots of fights. lots of cool gadgets lots of surprises etc.

this one was 3 hours of story that went nowhere.. they spent TONS of time building up all this incredibly deep junk that was not needed. and most of it made no sense..

The big part of the story.. the villan takes over gotham city.. cuts it off from the rest of the world... to sit and wait 6 months to do anything... all the time threatening to blow up the town,
but not telling you who has the detonator.. (although it was really obvious who did) he leave batman "stranded" so he cant return.. but he does right at the second this bomb is going to blow up,
and they try to detonate it at the same time.. why wait six months... if you are going to terrorize do it.. and if you know its going to blow up on its own at a certain time.. why have someone else detonate it at the same time.. if you cut off the city. why do you let the military come in and bring food etc That kind of logic runs through the whole movie..

then they trap the cities police force in the sewer system for that six months.. you mean to tell me not one cop is smart enough to realize there are man hole covers ever block or so and could not escape?? then after being trapped in the sewers for six month they finally get out and they are ready to do battle with the bad guys army?? i think they would be in really bad shape after that much time..

batman has 1 min to get the bomb out of gotham.. he stops to kiss the "girl" then talks to commissioner gordon then has time to fly the bomb from the middle of the city out to the ocean.. the bomb has a blast radius of 6 miles.. lets do the math.. 30 miles out of town 6 miles blast radius.. then 20 plus more to get it past safe distance.. that 56 miles in under a min.. that 3360 mph... in a helicopter..

Ok through the whole movie they say "the auto pilot" on the "batcopter" does not work.. you mean to tell me the smartest people developing multi billion dollar vehicles cant take a system that works in every other airplane etc.. and put it into their billion dollar helicopter??

these kinds of holes in the story made it SOOOO unbelievable that i could not enjoy it.. these are mistakes for low budget "B" movies not multi billion dollar productions..

I dont want to give away the story, so its hard to go into what I hated about it.. but I really did not enjoy the movie.. and yes they left it open for part 4.. batman and robin

I will rent this one because of the gaffs I have read on other sites.

whats funny? I have been on several forums.. not ONE of them has had a good review of the movie..
but if you go to Rotten tomatoes and other sites like that they are giving it 75%-95% liked it..

There were a couple of good things in the movie. Anne Whatever her name is played Catwoman VERY well.. She gets 5*

I'd compare this movie to a crappy episode of "24"

I do not plan on seeing it, but the local paper gave it an A, which is incredibly rare. Even more surprising to me was that the reviewer said that the movie really dragged when Anne Hathaway (Catwoman) was not on screen. I had serious doubts that she could pull off such a serious role, but I guess she did.

So, I havn't seen any of the new Batman films. I've seen bits and peices of the TV series, as well as most of the original films. Are the new ones just as tacky, or are they more serious in tone?

I am in the Adam West as best Batman camp. Some of the movies take themselves so seriously that they come off as goofy. At least the TV show went for camp right out of the gate. And Julie Newmar as Catwoman was one of the most brilliant casting decisions ever.

Adam West is the only real Batman!

or at leads the best batman.

See, being only 24, I got used to the ninties era cartoon, which was much more serious in tone than the movies, or the sixties tv series, and much more believable. It was very well done for a cartoon I might add. Wikipedia refers to it as the action adventure complement to such adult oriented cartoon humour series such as Beavis and Butthead, and King of the Hill. Among the things they did that was unusual for children's cartoons was that the voice actors recorded their dialogue all together, rather than one at a time, in separate sessions, allowing them to actually act. It holds up very well compared to other cartoons, IMO...

I thought Christian Bale played Batman Really well. Remember he's not truely "batman" he's doing "The dark Night" which was a Graphic novel. (yes fancy word for serious cartoon)

the first two movies were incredible. I just really did not like this one.. if felt like a crappy episode of 24.. not thought out well. To many flow mistakes.. but live and learn

The Older batman movies (Michael Keaton, val Kilmer George Klooney) those played off like the origina adam west TV shows. with MORE comic book to them.. decent movies.

One person's review on a forum does not a verdict make. It is an opinion only. The general consensus I read from the Internet is that its not as good as the second movie but it doesn't suck either. The opinions seem to be that there parts where it drags a bit, but Anne Hathaway's performance was quite good, and sometimes Bane is hard to hear. Most opinions also note that it ends the trilogy decently, if not in the most satisfying manner. And that the expectations were so high that it would have been difficult to live up to in any case.

I haven't been a fan of camp since... well... ever. I like my characters complex, my moral situations murky, my resolutions defined, without necessarily being happy. This is why I like the new BSG over the old (exception, last season), the new Batman over any version with Adam West, and why DS9 was interesting I don't mind simpler morality entertainment (Captain America comes to mind) but outright camp... not so much.

Looking forward to seeing it in theatre if I can.

+1... I have NO interest in these stupid "Batman" films... they've been done to DEATH already... last one I saw was the one with Jim Carrey I think...

How about something original?? Almost as bad as these goofy Spiderman movies...

Later! OL JR :)

There were alot of negative reviews for Prometheus as well, and I loved it...so for TDKR I will state my own opinion after I see it..... (if I can afford to go this weekend....)
