Please let the UTA team know I congratulate them on their hard work and effort....

I sure will! Im still a little sad that they changed the competition so we couldn't go after your record ;)

You gave me a good idea, I will talk to several professors at UTA and ask them to professors that they know at other schools!

Thanks! I flew my L3 rocket at LDRS XXX in Argonia. It was so much fun, and making planes to make a summer launch up in Argonia.

You wouldn't have been going at it alone... I was very tempted to just make another this year and go for the heck of it, but I'm working with the UAH USLI team as a mentor and we've been really busy. I just wish I would have found my H flight from last year... Even if nothing else other than to know how high it went and get the data off of the altimeters.

Im glad we had a team from UAH go to the competition this year, but I have no idea how it went for them. From what I heard before they left for Virginia is that they needed quite a bit of luck. Im glad the guys gave it an effort though, they certainly put our machine shop through some hours.

Promoting the BotR is definatly something that is needed. The club members realize that and are looking at ways to do just that.

Part of the problem is that the club only hosts the competition, they don't organize or run it. FOGE is the primary sponsor of the BotR. Ivan is the primary interface between the club and FOGE and pretty much organizes and runs the contest himself. The club supplies the GSE, handles the launch day logistics and helps as much as we can, but we are not directly involved in the planning, promotion, organizing, or running of the events.

Although the club is only the host, we are looking for ways to get the word out about the contest and grow the contest.

Any suggestions for promoting the BotR to high schools and colleges will be gladly accepted.

Im hopping by the end of this summer to reconfigure our old altitude rocket and launch it to also see just how high it can go. We had 'very' optimistic simulations to 12000. I know UAH put in some good flights, but I think I heard that they also had something disconnect in flight and led to major damage.
