We're all nerd enough, but for those of you young enough, consider this solicitation:

My name is Lindsay Spaulding and I am currently casting King of the Nerds, a new show celebrating geeks and nerds of all kinds. The show is Competition based, designed to showcase the passions and knowledge of men and women between the ages of 21 and 30, as they compete to win a cash prize. The show will be hosted by the original UBER NERDS from "Revenge of the Nerds"! We are looking for scientists, programmers, inventors, engineers, gamers, comic book fanatics, movie buffs, chess masters, role players, you name it. We are looking for people who live and breathe their passions who are competitive and want to showcase their talents and win money!

It would be absolutely amazing if you could help me find the best of the best. I'd love to speak with you to see if you or anyone you know would be good fit for the show! Any and all recommendations for candidates or suggestions of who to speak with would be greatly appreciated.

I got that email as well. I deleted it because a) it was unsolicited and b) I have no idea how they got my email address. Anything that satisfies either a) or b) is generally classified as SPAM.

Besides, I'm too old (according to them).

From their website, the production company appears to be legit, but in light of your comment, you gotta love this message on their "Contact" page:
No unsolicited submissions accepted
investor inquiries only
What's good for the goose and all that . . .

I can only wonder, "why the age limit?" I'm sure that a lot of us old nerds have forgotten more than the young whippersnappers will ever know. (Especially pertinent, when you think that some of the UBER NERDS from Revenge of the Nerds are getting a senior discount at Denny's!)

I suspect that has more to do with marketing demographics than ability...

One should always keep in mind...

Old age and treachery will always beat youth and skill....
