I sent my email same day as posted. Received an initial email from John stating that I would receive a second message when the kits were bagged and ready to ship, with payment instructions. Nothing yet, so I guess my request fell through the cracks. Bummer.
Sorry Kevin. Was trying to cover all the single orders first. Your double order invoice has been sent...if you're still interested that is. Should ship next week.

Ok, that's not a problem and yes, of course I still want the kits. We're looking forward to building them and are hoping to see many more of your kits available in the future.

Thanks again and welcome back!

Welcome back John !!

Dibs on two birds, email sent...

You have been greatly missed and
its truly good to have you back !
All the Best to Yvette and yourself !

Susan

Yes, John, welcome back. I wrote a feature article about John's travails, and it's on the front page of Rocketry Planet. I hope John and other enjoy it.

D- I think it was awesome. So much so, I think I'll put it in a thread of it's own. Thanks again buddy.

Glad you liked it. I enjoy personal interest articles, something that hobby rocketry doesn't have enough of. We get magazine after magazine with nothing but pictures of rockets launching into the sky and no people. It's the people that make hobby rocketry the great sport that it is.

Received #108 today can't wait for the next one.

LOL...Funny, I got mine today as well! Number 109! ;)

Wonder who is getting #110?

Awesome looking kit! And ohhhh, there is a neat red snap swivel in there too! :D

Awesome stuff John! Thanks!

It's funny you sould mention that. When I started this limited edition, I began keeping a log of everyone's name and address and which numbered kit they got. If I had a pin Map, it would interesting to see the spread over the globe.:)

Today I received my Black Shadow kits, #111 and #112. Upon opening the box I found the kits to be very well packaged and complete. The header cards are numbered and signed, the instructions are well thought-out, a thick page for the fin templet and body tube wrap, a separate package with the nose cone and balsa sheet nicely sealed as well as a bag with the smaller bits, quality balsa and a nice nylon 'chute. The red swivel is a nice touch also. In about an hour I had the motor mount and shock cord anchor built and the fins cut out. With today's technology, laser-cutting is fine, but cutting out the fins by hand was a refreshing experience. A rocket should be -built-, not simply assembled. One thing I noticed that I rarely see with most kit manufacturers is with the balsa nose cone. While the shoulder fits nice and snugly as it should, the base of the nose cone is larger than the body tube. I see this is a good thing. With several sealing, sanding, sealing, sanding cycles, that extra diameter will come in handy. For me, it's easier to sand down than it is to fill in. With the thick 4 fins it's going to be a stable flier. I'll launch it on a C first, but it -will- get a steady diet of AT 18mm reloads thereafter. I'll probably substitute a streamer in place of the 'chute on those flights though...

This is a great kit, and one I'm proud to own.

I'm looking forward to more of your kits, John!:D

You're very welcome! Yep, with a little masking collar on the body tube, you can do you're finish sanding with the cone in place...well...maybe up to the very end anyway. As far as the streamer, you are right on the money. Will work just fine. Hope you post some finsihing pics as well!

I received kits #113 and #116 today

Can't wait for the next re-release...

So I recently became "Born Again" (for the third or fourth time depending on who you ask). In my last BARe-incarnation I built and flew a great many Thrustline kits, and there were many more that never got out of the build pile. Not finding Thrustline in business this time around I set out to clone my favorite Thrustline kits, starting with the Black Shadow. The paint had barely dried when I decided to get on TRF and see what was going on. This thread was the very first one I saw, quite a nice way to start things off. I finally got out and flew this past weekend and my Black Shadow clone flies straight & fast, just like the original did. I wish I could remember what number I had before... 50-ish I think. I'm looking forward to getting a new one.

John - Wonderful news, thanks for letting the rest of us share in it!

I am going through the instructions right now. On April 1st, I'll post a thread that will allow pre-order sign up. This will give me an idea of interest so I can plan a batch. From there, I would suspect that the first kit should ship out around the third week of April. This all depends on material availability.
So, keep your eyes peeled.;)

Maybe you should wait until April 2nd, so people don't think it's a joke. :D
