We are in Gulf Shores, AL for the week. Tomorrow we are heading over to Pensacola to see if the Blue Angels are practicing (with their new commander) and see the Naval Aviation Museum.

Anybody have any other rocketry/military/aviation must do's in the area? (we have already done the USS Alabama, though we may do that again when the wife goes to the outlets in Foley. Any good hobby shops around here that I can support?

The Blue Angels are obviously practicing. Just watched 4 of them fly low and slow over the beach at Gulf Shores in a diamond formation as far as I could watch them.

EDIT: They just came back and did maneuvers over the beach here. Watched them for 20 minutes before they left. 4 of them flew a bunch of stuff in Missing Man formation. Odd.

I second what SMR said: Eglin is a great place. I10 east to Crestview, Fl(85) then south to Eglin. If you like scale scratch builds, take a tape measure and a BIG note book. Or how about some gulf fishing? It's beautifull out there!

It's a shame...I've lived here 40 years and can't find the time to enjoy it!
