Working on a small project with tight spaces that I felt was easier to build before painting, including priming (please don't ask me why). I will also be final hand/brush painting much of it. Is there a good brush-on/non-spray primer that will adhere to the glassine finish on body tubes? Enamel paint doesn't go on well on those glassine tubes.

I believe a light sanding should take the glassine off. Personally however I haven’t had any problems with standard spray on primers and the glassine left on, except I sand it off in places of fin attachment,

Yep, I always sand the glassine down on the whole airframe. Maybe not off, as if I peeled the layer, but certainly thin and dull.

THIS (see photo)...I use this on all my rockets. Its Cheap...It seals...It sands like glass and cleans up with ammonia and water. Yu get it at Home Depot or hardware store. A quart will last for years. It soaks in and seals. GREAT stuff. See my Estes shuttle build thread. My Conquest thread etc. I show this product there.
