Come on, man, SAY IT...So an original BSD Thor and not one of the kits Scott currently offers under the Fusion name?
Last night Scott posted two build videos for one of his Fusion kits. Interesting stuff. I even learned a few things for general rocket building. One of them was a slap in the head kind of thing (why didn’t I ever think of that?) that I’m embarrassed to say out loud.
Love the color scheme of the bottom rocket+the colors are great.
I’ve been arguing with myself over ordering a fiberglass “Bigger Daddy” from Animal Works today...and I bought an Estes Big Daddy from the Lobby about three weeks ago which led to the need for a larger HPR stubby rocket.
I’ve already ordered a Mach 1 Red Shift, an Estes Sprint XL, and there are a Toby V Cherokee H and a Mach 1 Chimera 65 (still in the delivery box) out in the workshop.
And I’m also considering ordering an Eggfinder “whole enchilada” tracker/gps system with black aero handheld case...
It’s only money and YOLO, right?
Looking for some enabling here...
Okay, okay.Come on, man, SAY IT...
Okay, okay.
Scott doesn’t glue his motor mount into the body tube.
He inserts it dry, gets it adjusted into position, and then fillets the rear centering ring to the body tube. Next he fillets the top centering ring to the body tube: THERE IS NO GLUE BOND BETWEEN THE MIDDLE CENTERING RING AND THE BODY TUBE.
In member FlyFalcon’s recent LOC Patriot video, he doesn’t appear to glue the middle centering ring to the tube either.
You would not believe the contortions I’ve gone through to get that middle centering ring glued to the body tube...
A great weight has been lifted from my rocket construction shoulders.
Yes original. Below is the sticker on the box with the 2003 copyright designation. BTW, love the old BSD stuff. Also have a Canadian Sprint in my fleet, again below. So an original BSD Thor and not one of the kits Scott currently offers under the Fusion name?
Pro Series Patriot is all painted now. Its reminiscient of the orange test rounds used today out at white sands (PAC-2/GEM-T). I also cut up the shiny gold warhead decal so I could apply the fusing strips.
Im pleased with how it turned out and look forward to flying it once we can get out and about again. Should get ~1000 to 1800 ft on the range of 4xD12s, 2xE/Ds, and 4xE12s

@o1d_dude Are the videos on YouTube? I looked and found 4, only one was a build video of sanding the leading edge of a fin. Got any links? So an original BSD Thor and not one of the kits Scott currently offers under the Fusion name?

I had a working Eggfinder Mini until I put the shrink wrap on.
Time to get the magnifier and look at my solder joints.
Red LED flashes but the amber LED doesn't indicate a fix.
LuckyI’m in the groove tonight As I mentioned earlier my package arrived today. Eager to leave Dr apt that seemed like a lifetime 45 minutes, lol a 30 minute drive I finally was able to lay my hands on the box from Apogee Components..
i was not surprised to find the quality and the shipping as others have stated it to be. I’m stoked and can’t wait to get to building this kit. 2020 will be the year to remember in Rocketry for me...

I had it outside and the receiver got a fix almost immediately; I waited awhile for the Mini but never got a fix. I'll look at it again tomorrowTry the receiver with it anyway. The amber LED doesn't work on about half of my Minis - but they all get a fix and talk to the LCD receiver.
MRC Starfire and Starlight Industries Nimbus.
