That was a mistake paint job... I agree it look cool though... I used House of Colors model paint when they produced it back in the day... It Crackled but I left it that way...

Okay, okay.

Scott doesn’t glue his motor mount into the body tube.

He inserts it dry, gets it adjusted into position, and then fillets the rear centering ring to the body tube. Next he fillets the top centering ring to the body tube: THERE IS NO GLUE BOND BETWEEN THE MIDDLE CENTERING RING AND THE BODY TUBE.

In member FlyFalcon’s recent LOC Patriot video, he doesn’t appear to glue the middle centering ring to the tube either.

You would not believe the contortions I’ve gone through to get that middle centering ring glued to the body tube...

A great weight has been lifted from my rocket construction shoulders.

Yes original. Below is the sticker on the box with the 2003 copyright designation. BTW, love the old BSD stuff. Also have a Canadian Sprint in my fleet, again below.

@o1d_dude Are the videos on YouTube? I looked and found 4, only one was a build video of sanding the leading edge of a fin. Got any links?

Woke up at 3 AM. Not feeling sleepy so I slapped together a couple of quickies from the build pile.
MRC Starfire and Starlight Industries Nimbus.
Now I REALLY have to finish that shelving.

Youtube, yes.

Links, no.

Found them by doing a search on “Fusion Rocket” IIRC.

Four videos seems about right. First was the unboxing of the kit. Second was the construction of the fin can. Ran about 20-25 minutes or so.

Try the receiver with it anyway. The amber LED doesn't work on about half of my Minis - but they all get a fix and talk to the LCD receiver.

I had it outside and the receiver got a fix almost immediately; I waited awhile for the Mini but never got a fix. I'll look at it again tomorrow

1st. I found Ryan’s video build with his LOC Patriot and watched those. Got me itching to build another Military rocket.

2nd. Off to my stash I went, Going to build a 1/4 Scale SideWinder by Estes.. I grew up next to China Lake Naval Station and watched the Bombers and Fighter Jets for years. This kit brings back memories of air shows and seeing them mounted on the jets.

3rd. I built a rocket stand to build on. I cut two center sections 1 long for HPR and long LPR and a short section for small LPR so now it is dual purpose..

Started Nike Smoke. It came with an assembled parachute. Looks like the bulk of the work will be shaping the fins and preparing them for paint.
