Great deal getting 20% off the price of a rocket you really want. The one shown in the above post looks great. I'm interested in how you will be building the kit you just purchased.

This winter I built a Loc Lil' Diter and a Loc Lil' Nuke. I have a Loc Forte' that needs to be built.

Hope to see your new EZI-65 at a CATO launch this year.

The CATO field is just to small, its always a crap shoot going over say 1500' as to whether you get your rocket back or not lol. The one above is mine?? not sure what you mean?

I miss read your post. I thought the one in the post was an old photo of the one you pushed too far. Once again, it looks GREAT.

I went to the pot luck CATO launch last year. The conditions were perfect, no wind at all. The field is small but the people that run the launches, food concessions, on filed vendor and the people that launch there are the reasons I am into rocketry. I was planning on attending the April launch but I don't see that happening.

Ahhh Gotchya,

Yeah I was VP of Cato for a few years, great club and people, I just whish we had a little more room and less trees is all. But when we start flying again I'll most likely see you there.

More room would be great. It's difficult to find big open spaces here in New England.
Does CATO ever setup the pads on the other side of the access road?

CATO runs their launches extremely professional and well organized.
Don't even get me started on the food service. That alone was worth a 240 mile round trip ride twice last year. People really enjoyed the Italian sausages I brought down to the picnic. I made sure that the club officials and vendor got one. Hopefully you did too.

We've flown off different parts of the field in the past, believe it or not sound! was a factor with one of the neighbors... I'm sure IF! there was a better spot and they had the permission we'd be flying from said spot. That's probably the best spot Durham will allow them to fly from however.

Where are you located? I also fly at METRA in Pine Island NY, the waiver is 5K now but years ago we had a 12K waiver, I was on the BoD there as well. Thing is if you stay under the 5K you can fly M's there as too.

I figured that CATO has a good reason for setting up where they do, which is why I never asked while I was at their launches. I didn't want to appear to be a know it all. Last year one of the officers was telling me about that mean lawyer that lives in the big house near the field. Some people are miserable and don't like to see other people being happy. CATO is fun for all and very family friendly.

I am located just north of Boston. In June of 2008 my family and I went to an event at Pine Island called NERF. We had a great time. The field is beautiful. It's about a four hour drive for me. My wife and I were talking about going back this year if possible. A 5K waiver is fine. My L2 flight was only 3,200 feet which is my highest flight. I've seen your gallery, very impressive. Some of your stuff is probably past 3K before burn out.

Yup I was there at NERF, for you it be well worth the ride and stay for both Sat & Sun at Metra, Rick (Wildman CT) is there, Lloyd the food vendor as well. One nights stay at the Days Inn and you have one awesome weekend for the whole family.

Sounds like a plan. Back in 2008 I think we may have stayed at the Days Inn.
Are all the METRA launches two day events? By the way, I still have a NERF flight card from 2008.

The last drawer in my bureau is filled with travel information. When work slows down a bit I'm going to dig out the folder from NERF 2008. I have Mapquest maps, directions and hopefully hotel information. I remember the general area being a nice place to visit.

I have a Madcow Torrent who's only flight was my L2 certification in May of 2018. I have a CTI 38 mm I reload waiting to be used. Not to mention those Loc mid power kits I previously mentioned.

During these times of despair it's good to think positive and have something to look forward to. In fact, at the next CATO launch I'm going to donate a 5 pound box of Bianco's Italian Sausages to the club. Make sure you get one in case you missed out last time. This should give you something to look forward to. https://biancosausage.com/

Thanks for the link. Last year I put one aside for Wildman Rick. I'll make sure the cook does the same for you this year.
