Greetings Fellow Shut in Rocketeers,

I recently built a Loc Lil'Diter and Lil Nuke. I also have a Loc Forte' still in the box. I put a lot of time and a decent amount of money into these kits. Some of the fields I will launch at have crops where rockets can get lost. I was wondering if some of you could provide some input and share your experience, good or bad, with beepers. One of the products I saw online is the transolve.com MiniTransBeep.

Are you able to use the same equipment on different rockets? What brands do you like.

Cheap and easy to modify, as well as really loud, personal alarm keychains, a number of fliers I know use them...including me. I also highly recommend some form of GPS locator system like the ones from Featherweight, Missleworks, BigRed Bee, Altus Metrum, and if you have the skills to solder surface mount components the Eggtimer Rocketry Eggfinder GPS. I recently (last Labor Day) used my Eggfinder Mini GPS to located a 7.5" nosecone lost 600' inside a circle of full grown corn, without it I would have spent many hours to locate or to possibly have lost the nose cone.

Thanks for the information. I will lookup the GPS systems that you mentioned. I used to do a lot of soldering back in the day. I would like to hear more about what you did to the Eggtimer Rocketry Eggfinder GPS.
