Cats or Dogs?

You can go away for a week and the cat will be fine. Not so with a dog. If I left a weeks worth of food out for my dog, it would be gone in an hour. And then it would be all over the floor in various stages of digestion, some of which would be completed... :barf:

Two idiots were walking down this street when the two saw a dog licking itself. One idiot says to the other, "I sure wish I could do that." The other idiot pipes up, "Do you think he'll let you?"

punch line variation:

"I think you better pet the dog first"

Robert Heinlein pointed out something like "Cats are free citizens. Dogs are slaves. It's not their fault, it's how they're bred." And it's true that dogs are often frantically eager to serve their master/mistress. Very few cats do that.

I was a dog person as a kid, but have not been without a cat for more than a month or so in the last 40+ years. Got three right now. Boo is black, 16 lb, not fat, looks like a bloody panther. And is an awful scaredy-cat when it comes to thunderstorms. His mom Magic is a longhair black, and the newest one, Dale, is a gray tabby.
People have dogs, cats have people. ;)

I'm a Doggy Daddy. I have 2 rescue dogs, one female (Kettu) and one male (Woodstock). I've had 2 dogs for maybe 30 years. I also get them when they are 8 weeks old as they imprint on their people and makes training easier. Plus I have staggered their ages over time so they aren't dying at the same time. And I lean towards Husky somethings & Malamute somethings. Here's Kettu & Woodstock & believe it or not. Woody's brother & sister look just like Kettu.Kettu in VW.jpg Woody Chilling Outsm.jpg

Both are so cute!

Grew up with dogs. Wife grew up with cats. Obviously we have cats. Dogs need to be taken care of, Cats will decide if they want you to take care of them. That said I like them both.
