Will be a very busy F1 season once they are able to restart. Wonder how many races will be rescheduled. Monaco, hope not. Too processional.

Originally streamed live but here is the replay:

F1 is also planning to live stream (youtube, twitch) a virtual Bahrain GP this coming Sunday 2000 GMT. I don't know what drivers will participate but its something to possibly watch and pass the time at least.

Love F1 especially since being stationed in Europe for 9 years and Spa was 30 minutes away or Nurburing down the road. Sitting trackside at Belgium in turn two with the throttles floored as they swept down hill through the left hander was the equivalent of sitting trackside at White Sands watching the 2nd stage Trident II test! Loved the Schumy/Hill contests of the 90s. I've enjoyed watching the rookies come up bringing fresh energy. Hamilton has been a blast to watch and Sebby too but he's gone the way of not being able to deliver the fight as a driver. Out of a crowd no doubt he can manage the car but in a pack he will break it up almost every time. LeClerc has the ice in his veins Kimi once had and should hopefully go on to a phenomenal career; he's got the smarts just needs the time behind the wheel to mature. The Tifosi will have to make a decision to move LeClerc to #1 but I don't see that happening soon and that will turn in to the issue Mercedes had previously with Hamilton and Rosberg, Seb being Rosberg. Verstappen has settled in finally and keeps it interesting. Hopefully F1 can salvage a season especially with the tracks added in Netherlands and France. As for the Constructors championship, I understand the field leveling but F1 is killing the innovation sequence and they run the risk of becoming NASCAR and the restrictor plate parade, lift, press, left, lift, press, left, lift, press, left snoooooore! pile-up.

Awesome news!
On a side note. Are the factories also shut down? Kinda like how they do it for summer holiday? Or are they taking advantage of this time to improve on their race programs, aero, engine testing, and so on?

I read Horner's comment that everyone missed the fact the Racing Point was faster than Mercedes at one point in one of the sessions at full pace which prompted their protest. It was alarming to them.

“I think everybody would be worried by the Racing Point,” Horner said. “I mean, Perez was quicker than the Mercedes at that point in the race. Bearing in mind that Bottas was on tires that were within one lap of age to the Racing Point, Perez was three or four tenths quicker.

Sad but true - Wayco and I, after being avid F1 fans for over 2 decades, are no longer particularly interested. We got rid of our Direct TV at home back in January and suddenly found out that without easy access to watching F1 we forgot about it. Sign of the times I think.

Haven't ever used it so I don't know how it is first hand, but F1 TV (Pro or Access) looks to be a decent value. Personally, I just watch replays unless the particular race is closer to my time zone. Just have to stay off news and social media feeds until you watch the replay to avoid spoilers.

It's good to see them more competitive, but it will be interesting to hear the ruling on the Racing Point. Ferrari this year though,.......ooof

Well, anyone still watching? Ferrari are celebrating their 1000th GP, Engine modes eliminated, Gasley won the last race, Vettel goes to Aston Martin, Perez gets dropped, HASS to make some driver changes, Red Bull is climbing back, anyone?

I am, though not live, only off the DVR.

Ferrari is self-destructing on many levels, and with Merc inventing new ways to throw the Monza race, that race had produced an enjoyable and unexpected ending.
I haven't watched Mugello quali yet, but the results are reflective of this year's teams' and driver's abilities: Merc ahead of RedBull, which is ahead of Ferarri/pink Merc. Ham ahead of Bottas, VES ahead of Albon, Leclerc ahead of demotivated Vettel, RIC ahead of Ocon, Sainz ahead of Norris.
Ferrari's engine struggles are passed onto its customer teams, so Haas and Alfa are also in the doldrums.

The story of Clair Williams managing the team into the ground will provide material for multiple books and movies to come, but for now, the new owners may, or may not, make things worse. The history of PE companies investing into sports is littered with disappointments.

If other commitments don't intervene, I plan to watch tomorrow's race live at 9am EST.

I'm also watching replays but will try to watch Mugello live as my local formula 1 group started a discord server/chat since our usual sports pub meets are currently on covid19 hold. Pub recently installed screens for outdoor viewing so hopefully we can get back to it and help the pub out with business.

Merc engine is so far ahead that they can just crank the downforce way up compared to the others. Love the Mugello track but not sure how race-able it is. I guess we'll find out tomorrow but I'm thinking turn 1 as only opportunity to pass but I hope not. I also hope tire deg is high so maybe we get some good strategy calls.

Well, anyone still watching?

Yep, I am a long time F1 fan and I watch everything using the DVR. I sit down to watch quali and the races but I usually just put the practice sessions on in the background while I am doing something else like working on rocketry stuff. I love all the advanced engineering that goes into everything F1.

Looking forward to the day when F1 is broadcast in 4K video. Someday......

we were talking at the cigar shop last week about the good old days of Formula 1 racing with Niki Lauda in the Ferrari T312 and Mario Andretti in the Lotus 78, and Senna in various cars.

Long term fan here too.
Check out Netflix's series F1-drive to survive -- got my wife interested in F1!!! (also in 4k, Vern)
Going to watch the Tuscan tomorrow, for sure.

Why is Ferrari so bad this year -- did the engine-map rule hurt them that badly or what????

They reached a settlement after investigation with FIA regarding their engine operating outside of the rules. Either burning enriched oil through tiny holes in the intercooler, tricking the fuel flow sensor sampling pulses or timing, storing fuel in expandable lines after the sensor or something like that. It was a secret settlement that we will never know. Ever since then they went downhill fast. Plus the team leadership and management of races are not effective. I'm waiting for Vettel to change his own tires this race.

And Espn's coverage absolutely sucks. Cuts the race off constantly for reruns about reruns or the corn hole championships. The world's largest sporting event constantly cut short.
