At the risk of locking this thread. I believe this is crossing a line.
Edit: This could be construed as an attack on religion. I am not affiliated with any religion, but this seems like an attack on Christianity, insinuating Jesus is a virus.
Please correct me if I viewed this wrong.
I am a Bible-believing Christian and I did not find this offensive in the least.

Last time I checked, Iran was a country not a race.
Exactly. "Oh no, the car in front of me is driving too slow. THAT'S RACIST!!"

this seems like an attack on Christianity, insinuating Jesus is a virus.
He's not washing Jesus off of his hands, he's just washing his hands. See, it's funny because it depicts a scene a very long time ago, way before there was such a thing as a coronavirus, so he's not actually trying to protect against coronavirus.

This forum, and society in general, has gotten way too quick to get offended over every little thing.

I have sent a chat to Brian and taken this offline.

A humble request. How should I look at this post?

Pilate was (ineffectively, but symbolically) washing his guilt off of his hands. Hand washing is much more effective at removing the corona virus than it is in removing guilt.

Except, like any joke, now that we've explained it, we have also removed the humor. (sigh)

I am a devout life long practicing Catholic, and I see this for what it is, humor. Even the pastor at my church thought this was absolutely hysterical. He is not washing Jesus off his hands. He is washing his hands of the guilt. Plain and simple.

However, it is a JOKE!!! When we lose our humor the terrorists win!

Now that certified Christians have reviewed the post and found it inoffensive, we may return to our regularly scheduled memes. Thank you all
(I thought it was funny too)

Ok, this was hilarious as far as being certified, I would say certifiable.

"Geez. Oops" = I took the Lord's name in vain, in a comedic fashion, in much the same way the OP took a painting of Pilate washing his hands in a comedic repurposing. That there is a representation of Jesus in the photo just gives clarity to what the figure on the right is doing. No one is the least bit bothered by it.

Now I understand my Z3 much better!

Along those lines is an old joke:
A German automotive engineer is touring an American plant. The American leading him through shows him a particularly clever solution to a production problem they were having. The German looks at it, sniffs a little and says, "That's all well and good in practice, but it will never work in theory!"

I think that kind of attitude is how the instructions for replacing the alternator on my old VW Golf started with "Remove the passenger side front wheel and the access panel from the wheel well into the engine compartment."

I understand that it runs about $250 to change the tail light bulb on one of the late production beetles.
