Wow! If I had my L3, I’d probably come get it.

How long is it, and what does it weigh? What’s the length of the pieces when it’s broken down? I’m thinking in terms of transporting it.

Al, I have my L2, so I guess I could fly it.

Honestly, I kind of want to get it, but I might have a few practical concerns about the size. Transporting it might be difficult. Maybe I could strap it on the roof of my Mazda Protege5 and drive it home?

I’m also a bit worried about having room to store it, but maybe I could just store all my existing rocket crap inside the Thumper.

And I’m also concerned my wife would not be happy. But if she kicked me out of the house, I could probably just move into the Thumper and live there. It looks roomy enough.

This is sounding better and better!

If your close you would be crazy not to take the offer. You can hang it from basement or garage ceiling. You don't have to store it all together. The Wife won't care its FREE.

Hey Thirsty
Assembled its just under 8' tall and stands up inside the house. I don't have the measurements with me but it will fit in my Prius if that helps..
I have flown it short and fat on a L985 by not using the alt-bay. There's a spot in the nosecone for an altimeter. As long as your not in a hurry we may be able to work out a meeting place. My son just started his electrician apprentice in Chico.

Trial balloon was not well received. Lol!

I’m sure when broken down it would fit in my vehicle somehow. It is super intriguing. I live in the Bay Area, so not far from Chico. I also attend Dairy Aire, so I would get within a reasonable distance of Santa Barbara in May.

I rent a van for Dairy Aire, so transport would be a bit easier than cramming it in my smaller car. Hmmmmm...

Thirsty if you want it I'll get it for you. Where do you live anyways?

I live in the East Bay part of the Bay Area, city of Dublin, CA. Where are you?

I'm not sure this is going to work out because it is just such big thing to store with all the rest of my rocket stuff, which is slowly taking over the entire garage. But if I can figure that part out, what is your idea for getting it?

I will try to get things figured out ASAP so I can either poop or get off the pot and let someone else have a chance at it.

I remember back in the day when I was trying to quit smoking. I joined a program. Anytime I had an urge to smoke someone from the program would send someone over to drink with me.

Hahahaha! That's a good one! They can be so helpful!

get rocket now, figure out how to fly and store it later..

:p

Thirsty, I'll go in halves with you! We can store the beast at my place in Fremont out of sight. And it will fit in my Highlander for transport to LUNAR and TCC launches. I even have a 12 ft chute sitting around waiting for a rocket to fit. Then all we'd need is a big motor sponsor...

I learned long, long time ago, just tell her "I've had that for years" and sand a little balsa dust on top of it.

Is tubing compatible tubing still available for this size?

Just PM'd AHansom to see if we can work something out for the good of the order. I just can't let Thirsty go hungry too.

Nothing official on the weight, my scale battery is dead... I found these in my level III docs, 55lbs on the pad and 45lbs recovery weight. Even had an old school drawing with dimensions in there.View attachment 408435

Thanks! No need to weigh it if the notes are close. I just wanted to know if it was in the range of 40 pounds or more like 80 pounds so I could get an idea of what motors would be needed.

I love the old-school drawing!
