My wife just sent me this pic and its Hilarious. At first I thought somebody had made a HUGE mistake launching their Saturn V in the living room, Or maybe its some excellent photo-shopping, but......I think its a Lamp under the ST-V model with cotton balls glued to it. Either way.....Ingenious!

That would have been funny even in '54, since it looks nothing like the computers of the day. It's more like a power plant or big ship control station (or part of one) or something like that. With a terminal stuck next to it.

Yeah, everything about that just screams out, 'EASY TO USE!' Are the big wheels for steering or do they control the main valve? Computers are one place that folks in the past really underestimated the future. We don't have colonies in space. flying cars, or food synthesizers, but we sure exceeded expectations with computers.
