Helped my 10 year old nephew prep and launch my Apogee Apprentice on a C6-7.
It was his first launch and he was really excited. Countdown was at 2 when he pushed the button.
Perfect flight to about 1500' but it drifted into the trees and took about a 15 minute search in heavy briars to recover.
We all came out of the woods smiling and only slightly bloody.
I printed our a first flight certificate and let him take the smelly spent casing home as a souvenir.
I think I have him hooked on the hobby.

Tonight I sprayed the first coat of primer on a 3" scratch build that I'm working on.

I am very angry with kuririn. And by angry I mean jealous.;) LOOK at that friggin' flying field! Until I joined TRA I'd never seen a flying field more than 500' across. Didn't know they existed...

How big is that area you're flying from kuririn (ya lucky stiff!)?

Best -- Terry
IKR.... Kurirun…. You suck... j/s lols

Weather got up to 53 degrees today so I decided to take a chance and do some priming as I have half dozen rockets waiting for paint (Expedition, Der Red Max, Goblin, Puma, Lynx, and an Art Applewhite Pyramid). I also tried to paint the Goblin and the Red Max nose cones with some black paint, but they started to fog so will have to wait on warmer weather.

Made this yesterday.

Nice, is this part going to install in the body tube, above the engine mount? That looks much more secure then the "teabag" method.

On Saturday I and some friends launched. We have RocketBoy Weekend mid-February every year at a friend's cabin & fly from the frozen lake. We have a snowmoblie recovery team. Saw my first Estes E CATO! Impressive!

thanks and yes. It will be epoxied inside the coupler tube as the coupler is thicker then the BT. The whole reason for the anchor is to allow for use and replacement of kevlar shock cord.

Makes good sense. I have a QCC Explorer "on deck" as the next kit to build. It's a really appealing design.

Ordered a ream of Neenah 110lb card stock so I can print one of Art Applewhite's Texas Qubits, among other things. Amazon should have it delivered tomorrow.

Resumed construction on a small Wildman Jart that has languished on my work bench for years.

Cut off the tail end of the nosecone, have the motor mount in place awaiting epoxy. I don’t adhere the rear centering ring until the fins are glued in place.

The Jart is not thinwall F/G so it’s fairly heavy.
