We're several weeks into the relaunch of the XFL. Is anyone watching? I like the Dallas team, mostly because it has a bunch of OU football alums on it. I like the new rules(ie., kickoffs, extra points, etc.), I think they will make for a faster playing, more interesting game.

Nope, one season a year is enough for me. Plus, no teams near me to make it even mildly interesting.

I've been listening while doing other things and watching plays here and there. The kickoffs take a little time to get used. Still waiting for someone to attempt the double forward pass.

It's not the worst football I've ever seen. But there are a lot of has-beens and never-weres. I'll keep it up watching it. The team I identify with the best is the New York Defenders ... because ... cats.

Been watching the last couple of Sundays. It's carried on free over the air TV channels, and nothing better to do.
Stadium crowds look sparse. Weird seeing everybody freeze until the returner fields the kickoff.
Also the options on PATs need getting used to.
Local boy Jordan Ta'amu (Ole Miss, Houston Texans) is quarterback with the St. Louis Battlehawks but haven't seen him play yet.

I seem to remember they tried this (or something similar) years back. It was a total failure, which I think will be the fate of this XFL.

I have been watching some of it. Getting sick of watching the NFL when players are getting paid a $1000000 per game for 20 minutes on average of play time a game.

Watched one quarter of one game. Sub minor league play.

I actually liked the Arena Football League. It was such a different game on 1/4-size field and super fast play. Attending in person was great as you could have reasonably priced box seats super close to the action. And a few decent players over the years like Kurt Warner and Jay Gruden.

Didn't XFL v1 give us the fancy flying fieldcam rig?

Yes it did. Also, the first XFL was basically WWE and NFL combined. This XFL is more reasonable football with some weird (albeit interesting) rules added in. I've watched a few games and found them interesting but obviously the play on the field wasn't that great. The on the field interviews with the players and coaches are rather cringy since obviously many of those guys have no interest in having a camera shoved in their face in the middle of a game. It's mildly interesting to me and certainly far less annoying than the original XFL nonsense.

If you're talking about
Xtra
Firm
Ladies...LOL

I see those all over the place, some worth watching, others ....not so much....LOL

Oh wait, football....
Nopers, I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan and I haven't had a season to watch since the 80s :(

Watching Houston (Roughnecks) vs. Tampa Bay (Vipers) now on ABC.
Later today it's Dallas (Renegades) vs Seattle (Dragons) on Fox.
Hey, beats doing laundry and washing the car.:D
EDIT: Ah, didn't realize that June Jones is Houston's coach. He was the Univ. of Hawaii's head coach when we went to the Sugar Bowl back in the glory years. Probably could have been elected Governor back then.

I prefer to watch major league rugby rather than the XFL. I played rugby in my youth and I always enjoy a good game. Coming soon will baseball, so, no time for the XFL.

+1 to MLR. We just got a team here in Atlanta and I plan on going to some games.

Yup, so far i like the XFL much better than the old stale useless NFL. The crowds are much bigger than i thought. True, their not overflowing the stadiums, but their many, many more folks than i thought there would be. Bubye NFL...

You are joking, right? The crowds are pitiful at some XFL games, decent at others. The TV revenue has to be minimal at XFL games and it is enormous for NFL.

Check the viewer demographics. In the 18-49 year old range, no one's watching. TV doesn't like that. Bye-Bye XFL

St. Louis sold out their opener this past weekend. Based on social media feedback (I live in STL), XFL is a hot topic in St. Louis. Lots of "We don't need Kroenke for football" spirit. I am curious to see how this plays out.

I wonder how all this legalized sports gambling plays into the viability of this league. Demographics may not be as critical as it used to be...hmmm

The Battlehawks are close to a sellout again this Saturday. They are also developing a tailgate area next to the stadium that looks pretty cool on the news (anything to clean up and revitalize the Laclede Landing area!)
