For a winter project on my PML Spitfire I've decided to build a deployment redundancy set up. It consists of adding a payload section which contains a Quantum flight computer. The plan is to use single rocket engines and their deployment charge to deploy my main chute but to have a BP charge at the end of a payload tube to act as a back-up deployment charge to prevent (hopefully) my rocket from going ballistic. I would like to buy a "charge well" from Doghouse rocketry and I'm not sure what size to purchase. I'm considering the 1.5" size charge well for my 3" diameter by 21" length bt. Any suggestions before I order would be most helpful.

If you have done ground tests, then you should know the amount of BP it will need to deploy. just buy the size that will fit that amount of BP.

No I’ve never used any type of BP deployment. But I’m hoping the 1.5 inch size deployment charge well from doghouse rocketry will work.

I have a 3" black hole and use1.4 grams of BP. If the well you are lookkking at will hold that amount, then I would think it should be fine.
