Do you have GAS?

From another forum, I learned a new term, GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome. It's where you have to have at least one of everything. One symptom is immediately going through a new catalog, page by page. Another is making lists and comparing them to how many meals you can skip for the money to buy each item. I've seen similar conditions with people (guys) buying tools*. I bet more than one person here has rocketry-related GAS.

* when women contract this condition with regard to clothing or shoes, it is regarded as "normal".

While I've had no time to really dedicate to rocketry lately, I definitely suffer from GAS when it comes to metrology equipment. I can totally justify it because I use my tools at work and quality equipment when taken care of will last a life time... right? No cognitive dissonance going on here.

My new Estes catalog arrived today.

Yesterday my Aeropoxy order arrived with a catalog inside to rival the old Sears and Montgomery Ward catalogs. Hyooge!

As to the GAS accronym, I first saw it in connection with effects boxes and the like for guitars. I no longer have my Les Paul Custom and miss it but the GAS upkeep was killing me...so I took up rocketry...d'oh!

I have Rocketry related GAS. I realized it's impossible to have them all so I made a scratch build and called it "BEANO" and I'm cured
