How many rockets does everyone have in their collection??

I lost count. I think a more accurate question is how many years would take me to build my rocket collection. At this count, I’m going on 50 years.

Hello,
After a ten+ year break from rocketry I have just one surviving rocket. It's an Estes, but not sure which one as I didn't use the stock decals. I did just order some rockets this weekend for the first time in a while !

30 total. 3 in sick bay. A few mid power rockets, mostly just low power. I don't have a lot of money and space to build big stuff.

That photo has 90...most of them flight ready and a few yet to be painted...

I’m currently working on Estes Hornet with upscale and downscale siblings...IMG_0610.jpg

All still needing paint.

Two still needing paint. An Astra from Quest and a Mark 4 from New Way.
My partner in rocketry has a mini mean machine needing slight repairs and a mini fat boy that's been demoted to windowsill. Due to a CATO, the entire motor mount except for the upper centering ring was blasted out and about 1 cm square is missing from the upper corner of the "F" fin.

Thanks...it started with an Estes patriot we painted white with Curious George decals and a Big Bertha painted yellow called the big banana for my then three year old daughter who is now 14 (in the photo). All my kids have helped me and have contributed to the fleet over the years...

I’m trying to work on my technique and build higher quality ships in an effort to slow construction...my wife is incredibly supportive and takes it all in stride [emoji6]

It’s my joy I share with my kids...so much fun!

According to my rocketreviews.com dashboard, I have 700 as of Sunday when I entered my Estes Low Boom SST.

Not sure.

Probably more than some, less than others.

I have about 6-7 on my workbench...motivation for me to complete the build or they are too big to store conveniently (Goblin 5.5 and Frenzy 4”).

Another work table has the unfinished or stored rockets in “rifle socks”...I’d guess at least 10. Ranging from an Estes Mean Machine to a scratch built 4” tube fin with a 54mm motor mount and a dual deploy 3” tube fin that started our as my L1 cert bird and has...um, grown a bit in complexity during a major zipper repair.

Then there is a large Rubbermaid storage bin with low power model rockets most of which are built and have flown but there are a few that were set aside before paint or completion because i moved on to bigger birds. Maybe 20 in there.

Hmmm. Guess I have more rockets than I thought.

My L1 Bird in most recent trim. 38mm motor tube, LOC av bay, RRC2+...

My L2 bird Goblin 5.5 (54mm motor tube, nosecone av bay, RRC2+, with 6” ruler for scale comparison

My Lil Goblins (unfinished one is 38mm while finished one is a 29mm. Both are now complete.

Guess my flying colors are now pretty obvious.

I feel like an amateur! I have around 10, but I can't manage to fly them all on a weekend launch, so it doesn't seem like I need more. I'm always building something, though.

I feel like a piker too. Got back into rocketry last June, only have about 25 built.

At the end of 2018 I was down to two birds; I had three but decided to retire my 50+ year old Estes Little Joe II after dozens of flights and countless repairs. I've built the fleet back up to 6 ready to fly (4 flown, including my L1), 6 ready to paint (the only benefit of this coronavirus mess), 7 or 8 in the build pile (I've lost track) and 6+ on the not-yet-acquired or custom build list. That excludes the fun little stuff - the 9 scratch built Birdies I built for my great-nieces, great-nephews and grandsons (only the ones older than three and younger than 13) plus a bunch of Art Applewhite cardstock models, all un-flown. That's also not including the three AV-bays I need to build (2.6", 3" and 4"), including an Eggtimer Proton, Eggtimer Quantum, some Eggtimer WiFi switches and an Eggfinder TX and RX. Then there is getting the L2 and contemplating L3. Good thing I'm retired....

Now, north of #1000 unbuilt kits, around #125 built ones. I've about used up my shop space. Thinking of adding another shop and join them together...ugh!
All of the bagged kits and a few boxes are stored in Sterilite bins of 64-105qt sizes.
I'm up to 45 bins...
