Yea it will probably fly okay but it is making me crazy!

I used slow cure epoxy for the initial set. I think the jig got bumped while it was setting. Did not notice this until I had already applied the filets :(

Bummer man!

I will always use these kinds of jigs for doing fins (even ttw) from now on...

Don't forget to cut notches at the fin/body tube joint to prevent the jig from being glued to the rocket (I didn't do that for the photo above, and forgot to take an updated photo after I had).

I built an EAC Viper (original size) recently. One of the forward fins was canted a little (like yours) just like on the one I built way back when.... Sometimes it can't be helped, it is meant to be.

That is very cool! I even have access to a large format printer!

What about the fore / aft alignment? I noted you do two lines on either side of the fins. That is an excellent idea!

It’ll fly fine.
If this is the worst thing that happens to you this week, you’ve had a great week!

The one on the left side of the fin was the marking for the fin placement. The one on the right is for the slot I cut for the fin tabs.

Oh yea by far. Just one of those things! :D

Tom!
I have done this too! It is really an easy fix....even with your epoxy.
Get a sharp razor knife and make a slit at the front of the fin...just an onion skin thickness below the epoxy. Make the cut about one inch long down the root edge of the fin. Now gently score the body tube "glassine" layer around the edge of your epoxy fillets. Then gently bend the fin side to side so the tiny tear can work its way down the root edge. The fin will start to come off without damage to the body tube. Work slowly-forcefully but gently. Once the fin is off grind/cut/sand off the epoxy fillets. On the body tube...saturate the "fuzzy" area with THIN CA. let dry and sand. Re-set you fin line and glue your fin(s) on.

I have truly done this on low to high power rockets with surface mounted fins. Once I pulled off 1/4 ply fins after they were all done...I could not believe I did not see the wrong fin angles. The key is to get a THIN cut just under the glue and slice down. Once the cut has been made, it is then easy for the fin to be gently worked off by moving it from side to side. I hope this works for you! It has for me many times and my final finish did not even show it! Give it a try!

On the other hand it will fly just fine as is. People won't notice the wonky fin unless you point it out.

If you leave it as is I have a great name for it. Inspired by that great American philosopher, Meatloaf, you could call it "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad".

Haha... nah it bugged me so I did as BSNW suggested. It worked but left the body tube a little ragged.

Oh well I ordered another one, this one will be a knock around version.

Or the current name
"The Enemy of Good is Better "

no, it needs to be painted to look like meat, and even has it's own theme song:
