I don't usually put in too many plugs. I was surprised when I was listening to Pandora that you could get a discount from FTD. Ftt. Com/ Pandora. It was a 30% discount with Pandora which was better than my USAA discount of 25%. I had the flowers delivered today cuz I thought tomorrow would probably be crazy. My wife called and said they were really really nice. Surprisingly. They came from Kroger Supermarket rather than the local florists

as long as wifey is happy. I'm happy.

As Jeff Foxworthy says when wifey is not happy you're not happy and half your stuff is gone.

Yup, got to keep the wife happy, she has not complained about how much i have been spending getting back into this hobby again.
Going out to dinner at a great German Restaurant. The Bavarian Grille her in Plano TX.
We both love the food, and they have the best German beer list anywhere this side of Munich.

Hum - I will have to look this place up if I ever get down to Plano, TX for work :)

That is a great place (or used to be ~10 years ago), with super-extensive list of German beers on tap, and in bottles.
Rail road track running around the perimeter of the hall, near the ceiling.

Not terribly romantic, though.

If you have them locally, Trader Joe's is a surprisingly good place to get flowers. They have a better selection than the standard bunch of roses, good quality, and surprisingly low price for what you get. They also have a good chocolate aisle.

Still a great place.
Mrs. Cowboy is Scottish and German. She thinks it is romantic as long as I am there!

I learned long ago, that when your woman says "oh you don't have to get me anything", that it is a TRAP, and your butt had best have some sort of present or suffer greatly for it. ;)

I've already passed that one on to my son; hopefully he will heed it. :)

I bought a dozen roses at Target, of all places, this morning for $20. I gave them to my wife today, so I don't have to stand in line at the flower shop tomorrow. And it was way cheaper too!

I could have used this reminder 3 weeks ago when I scheduled us to move on the 14th. “Sure we can move in on the 14th, nothing special on the schedule for that day”...doh!

February 14 is always a big deal around here. I like getting my wife flowers, a nice card filled with sweet things, taking her to dinner somewhere yummy (tomorrow it will be Hibachi), and making sure she knows how much I love her.

March 14 is also fun for a couple of reasons. One of which is steak.

I guess I am an anomaly. I don't need a "special day" to know Wayco loves me. I don't need more "stuff" or cards or flowers, etc. I admit I like flowers, I like when Wayne comes back from shopping or something (he loves to shop - I hate it) and he brings a batch of flowers home and arranges them (he is a extraordinary flower arranger) . But not because it's "Valentines Day" We just don't believe in "supposed to's" created by marketing schemes. We think it is far more valid when it is spontaneous. YMMV.

We get the offspring something but not each other. We don't need fancy chocolates, flowers that die or cards that we read then either trash or toss into a box until next declutter session. I did fire up the grill for burgers and brats and brought home a sixer of both Two Hearted Ale and Dogfish Head 90 minute. Craft beer doesn't have a large presence here, so finding both in one store was surprising. For us simple works.
