That is a possibility but like Bob said there is very little market for these motors. The nozzle becomes a separate expense and the case must be prepped and the nozzle bonded in. It would be more of a “fun” project than a business decision.

Did you look into G12 glass/epoxy? I've got a quote in with Franklin Fibre for 500 and 1000 feet. I'll let you know what they say. Even if it adds a $ or so to the cost, it would be worth it and you could also bring back the longer 18mm such as the E45 and F55 :) Make them with no thrust ring like the 1990 style. Tape still works :)

can anyone tell me if there is a source for info on which size nozzle a specific Aerotech reload uses? I am mainly looking for info on 29MM and 38MM reloads. Thanks for any help.

Yes AT resource page and RCS parts. here some examples.
Click drawing find motor, blow up diagram and look at nozzle. # 3 on list.
Here are some links you will have to search through for what ya want it is ALL there.

On RCS nozzle pages click on nozzle then when that page shows click drawings for detail.

No need for the heartbreak - they were kinda expensive ($8/per), and have been superseded by Quest motors: C12 and D16 are $4.50/per, and a WHOLE lot of fun to burn.
https://wildmanrocketry.com/collections/quest/products/d16-4-q-jet
https://www.rocketryworks.com/rocket-motors/18-mm-motors/

If that's not enough, there are the 18/20 re-loadable D13 and D24 motors ($5.50/per)
https://www.siriusrocketry.biz/isho...rms-reload-kits-45/rms-18-20-reload-kits-185/

Wipe away your tears, and open up the wallet !

18/20 case is < $35 these days.
That's about the cost of 4 old D21s, and I know I burn more than 4 motors when I bring my 18mm supplies out for a launch day!

Yeah I reckon at some point the 18mm casing will end up in my range box...

Indeed.
With Q-Jets widely available at 1/2 the price of the old D21/D10, I would not look twice at the oldies.

Progress is great.
Thanks Aerotech !

In fact, at least by the 10/29/2018 price guide I had handy, the RAS closures are the only forward closures listed, so non-RAS forward closures seem to be a thing of the past for 54mm.
If I may butt in...
Neat! I did not know AT was producing those. I checked Wildman's site and they are listed "In Stock". I also searched the the Net for "Aerotech 54FFCPE" and "Aerotech 54FFCP". found 2 listings for each type.

Here's a list I compiled a few years ago. You'll notice a lot show Medusa nozzles. More motors have been certified since then.

In fact, at least by the 10/29/2018 price guide I had handy, the RAS closures are the only forward closures listed, so non-RAS forward closures seem to be a thing of the past for 54mm.
That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Maybe I glossed over it but in previous model numbers they used T at the end to indicate a threadded option and It was not present so I didn't want to assume.

In consumer applications however, they are used more for their unique appearance and novelty rather than for practical reasons

Yeah, because it’s super practical to spend weeks building a rocket, then driving for hours, and spend further hours to set up and launch a rocket into the heavens...

Only to find our offering to the sky Gods are rejected, and brother Gravity “asserts dominance,” and hurls our rocket back towards us.

Sister Murphy then applies her law, and inhumes our rocket into Mother Earth... who will then withhold our rocket from us until we perform the ritual of exhumation — which ends with the consumption of many “cold ones.”

All so can get the same drink that normally takes a few steps to the refrigerator.

I think Gary knows perfectly well I don’t care about practicality...

Even better - thanks!

Since I don't cook my own motors, and net of the disclaimer (Short burn (<1 second), cooler burning propellants, and pressures less than 500 PSI to avoid excessive nozzle erosion.), what AT motors could be coupled with the aerospike nozzle?

None of those I have in stock burn <1 sec.
Should this nozzle only be paired with N (Warp-9) and ST (Super Thunder) motors? At what pressure do those burn?

Warp-9, Super Thunder and Black Max should be good candidates. They have also been flown by another individual with White Lightning but I did not witness those tests. He received the majority of the prototypes back then. After we receive the new production run, we will conduct a few more static tests to make better recommendations.

Thanks!

Hi Gary,
Would it be possible to have the following?
Updated motor matrix/list
Drawings of DMS motors- for RCS purposes
Broader range of RCS propellant grain sizes for the different motor types?
Long burn RBG motors?

Rob,

I will work on the updated matrix.

Pretty sure the DMS motor drawings are already posted in the experimental motor kit pages. For example:

https://d11fdyfhxcs9cr.cloudfront.n...yimages/generic_54mm_hp_emk_assy_no_liner.pdf

Let us know specifically what additional grains you are most interested in, we’ll see if it’s feasible.

We are looking at some longer burning BT motors currently. However our main focus right now is to get all existing products in stock and reduce lead times.
