They're based in El Centro, CA where they practice all winter before hitting the airshows in the summer.
I got to see them practicing yesterday while driving past El Centro on my way to our HPR field.

The camera makes the distance between the planes look greater than it is. Most times when they are in formation there is only 16 to 18 inches separating the aircraft.
