I was at Lowes the other day and noticed this small Dremel tool. I've been thinking of getting a Dremel or clone, and but didn't want the larger size. I have a couple concerns about this one--(1) It's only .5 amp rated. I don't plan on using this for heavy duty use, but I also don't want it to overheat when cutting a plastic nose cone for example. (2) It's about $45-50 at the places I've looked, and I've seen some clones for half the price with more accessories (but brands I've never heard of). Anybody using the Stylo or have recommendations for good hobby rotary tool?

I've used Dremels a lot (a long time ago) for jewelry work, and a little on some wood projects, and I'm really leery of using one for rockets. I find it very hard to keep them from jumping when the rapidly spinning cutter or grinder bit touches the work, and it can mess something up in the blink of an eye. I'd rather go slowly and carefully with sand paper or a file.

Why am I bringing this up? I'd advise buying a cheap one to try out, and invest in a better one if first you like using it and also the cheap one proves inadequate.

Thanks for the advice jqavins. I was concerned the standard size tool was too big for my needs at this time, and your post confirms it.
