This morning I finally got around to installing sockets on my EggTimer Proton. The mating connectors , for Miss Riley, are next on the list but that will wait for another day.

Instead of sleeping last night I stayed up into the wee hours and assembled a few Semroc rocket racks:

And assembled the Estes Lucky Seven (Ansari X Prize):

After all, which is more important? Sleeping or building rockets?
Obviously...…...
(Yawn.…..)

Estes SR-71

Decided to build this little project this morning. It’s been in the shelf for many, many years.. I’d say over 18 years.. lol
I like this kit. It tends to hold up well to flight abuse. I built a heavy duty version to fly on old E45s. That was fun, but a little to fast. Still worth it.

Opened the 'Rockets for Repair' box back from when I was a 1x BAR. Damage from bad storage and 5x house moves in 12 years...

Scale Kits Apex built with a 24mm E length mount. Should be a fairly easy repair, I hope. 'Twas my first 24mm build and I'm a bit attached to it.

Video of her first flight here:

WOW,. That has taken more than it's fair share of hit points.

A friend of mine forms some goodies for me at a suburban Goodwill awhile back. Yesterday I finally made it over to his house to pick them up and chat for a spell.

Yep, the price tags are what he paid for them.
That Cesaroni is a Pro54 6G case sans the aft closure...
Happy Bargain Days.... :D

About my friend: A couple of years ago his wife died. She had ALS. In his spare time he hunts for deals at suburban Goodwill stores. Then he sells the items online. All the proceeds he donates to ALS research.

Holy. Freaking. Crap!

And it sounds like he gifted you these. How much did you donate?

I soldered a switch for the one/off of the dual deployment by PML. I like soldering...wish more rockets required this for DD instead of the push button

When I got my Tripoli binder last year there was nothing in it. Just a note saying they were updating the pamphlets and I would recieve the updated ones in the mail. They never came lol.

I’m sorry about that. Send me a message with your real name and I’ll get you the guts. Or you could print them out from the downloads page on the Tripoli website.

Ground tested the 1.63" IQSY Tomahawk that I'm configuring for dual deploy. 0.5 g. FFFFg in glove fingers seems about right. Need a little bit better protection for the drogue however.o_OIMG_20200131_094853.jpg

I might have a few like that.
My loss is Top Flight's gain. Ordered a replacement plus a couple of larger Nomex protectors. I've got a 3" Darkstar that also needs tested. I'll be a little more careful setting this up since there are much more expensive chutes involved.
