They are quite rare. As I understand it the number purchased far exceeds the number produced and delivered.

Don't know though I heard Hawaii was a possibility. She was in Glendale AZ which I went to high school in the mid 70's.

Sheri sold the kits and rights to Red Arrow Hobbies. RAH has since gone out of business. The only place to get any of the Sheri's kits are on the second hand market. For the Sat V, LOC had one that was similar last year.

I purchased serial #1 of Sheri's Sat V with a 54mm mount.

Got a hold of some resin F-1 batted engines. Used Testors Aluminum Plate Metalizer paint and sealer. I've been using some powdered graphite to rub in. It produces a minimal effect on one engine that I tested. IMG_0001 (56).JPG

Good to see things are still moving along on the ole SV Steven! Those things look great!

I hope you'll be able to return to the Starbucks VAB soon. 😉

BTW If you are looking to bring out the detail and add a bit of shading with the powdered graphite you might want to try colored pastel chalk too. Any art shop has them and the blacks, browns and tans make really nice dust and shading effects.

That's a good idea. I didn't think of that! And the Starbucks VAB is just too keen. Another one I would not have thought of. You need a coffee after that. I may still have an old box of pastels from my HS years in the 70's. Now I'll have a coffee.

Steven, I seen a Sheri's Hot Rockets Mercury Redstone on Ebay a little while ago, if you are interested.
I was going to send you a PM, but I wasn't allowed.
If you're interested, PM me and I will look it up and send you the auction. When I looked at it, it was $162. Didn't notice the cost of shipping though.
btw, Always Love to see updates on the SV! Show Piece Indeed!!!

Thanks Woody. I've already been watching it. Still have yet to finish the tower, launch rails and recovery system on my own MR.

What was/is Sherri‘s background (e.g., engineer, construction, etc.)?

I don't know what Sheri did professionally. I believe her husband is/was in aviation in some fashion. When she was selling kits, they lived in the southwest. Then a move to Hawaii happened and forced the sale of the company because shipping large kits to/from Hawaii would have been too expensive.

I'm presently in the middle of priming the booster end with two coats of primer and sanding down the fuzzies that the solvent pulled up. Not difficult in getting rid of them, just a lot of tube to sand down, fill low spots, more primer, etc. Used six cans already and need more. Pics will follow probably next week as the rain subsides.

I don't think it will ever be as satisfying to see a rocket completed as it will this one! Been a long time coming! Looking great!

Things are looking really good Steven! I know I don't have the patients to do such fine detail work.
I'm not sure how much your into SHR's, but I came across THIS and thought of you.
Hate to post this in a thread, but it seams I can't send you a PM.
Yup, already saw that Woody. Not interested in this one, her Saturn 1b is the one I'm looking for. Thank you kindly regardless.

If I happen to come across one some time, I'll let you know.
If you like, send me your Email in a PM so I won't have to post publicly.

I get emails from Ebay concerning certain items I want to be made aware of once they go up for sale. Anything by her I receive a notification from Ebay. Thank you anyway Woodie.
